Situation Report (SR -1) 10 April 2012 Emergency and Humanitarian Action (EHA), WHO Indonesia Flood in DKI Jakarta Province and several parts of Indonesia, Republic of Indonesia HIGH LIGHTS
During 2-5 April 2012, flood occured and monitored by Center for Health Crisis in the following areas: 1. On Tuesday, 3 April 2012 at 02.00 AM Western Indonesian Time (UCT+7) in 3 sub-districts: Cilandak (Pondok Labu village), Kebayoran Baru (Petogogan village), and Pesangrahan (Ulul Jami and Bintaro villages), South Jakarta, DKI Jakarta province; 2. On Tuesday, 3 April 2012 at 02.00 AM Western Indonesian Time (UCT+7) in Pasar Rebo (Cijantung and Kalisari villages) and Jatinegara districts (Kampung Melayu village), DKI Jakarta province; 3. On Tuesday, 3 April 2012 at 20.00 PM Western Indonesian Time (UCT+7) in Ciledug Indah 1 and 2 residences (Dalam Negeri, Pondok Bahar dan Puri Kartika) located in 3 villages (Pedurenan, Karang Tengah and Pondok Bahar), Ciledug sub-districts, Tangerang, Banten province; 4. On Wednesday, 4 April 2012 at14.00 PM Central Indonesian Time (UCT+6) in Cempa sub-district (Sikkuale, Salipolo, Mattunru-Tunru, Padang Paila and Mangki villages), Pinrang sub-district, South Sulawesi province; 5. On Thursday, 5 April 2012 at 12.00 PM Western Indonesian Time (UCT+7) in 2 villages (Baleendah and Andir), Baleendah sub-district, Bandung district, West Java province; and 6. On Thursday, 5 April 2012 at 18.00 PM Western Indonesian Time (UCT+7) in Punung sub-village, Jatirejo village, Giri Tantro sub-district, Wonogiri district, Central Java province. Center for Health Crisis, Ministry of Health reported 144 persons with minor injury and IDPs of 2,159 persons. Two health facilties were inundated. In overall, the related PHO and District Health Office (DHOs) have already evacuated the victims, provided medical services. South Jakarta DHO, East Jakarta DHO, Tangerang DHO, Pinrang DHO, Bandung DHO, Wonogiri DHO, DKI Jakarta PHO, Banten PHO, South Sulawesi PHO, West Java PHO, Central Java PHO, Central Java Regional Center for Health Crisis and Center for Health Crisis MOH are monitoring the situation closely. WHO is in close contact with MOH in monitoring the situation through Health Crisis Center MOH. In case the situation warrant, WHO will provide any assistance needed.

The population at risk in South Jakarta, DKI Jakarta is 940 people. The residents in East Jakarta, DKI Jakarta stayed in their houses. Up to Wednesday, 4 April 2012 in Jatinegara sub-district (Kampung Melayu village), the houses were inundated. Meanwhile, the flood in Pasar Rebo (Cijantung and Kalisari village) has been receding.

The flood in DKI Jakarta was caused by over-flooding of the Pesanggrahan, Krukut, and Angke rivers. National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) stated that 70% of banks of the above mentioned rivers were densely populated area. The local government tried to relocate the residents living at the riverbanks and provided 2.3 trillion IDR. Meteorological, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that 2012’s rainfall was less than 2007 (142 mm/day and 340 mm/day respectively); The number of population at risk are 97 house holds in Bakkoko sub-village, Sikuale village, Pinrang, South Sulawesi province. The flood in Wonogiri Central Java province was caused by heavy rainfall and the congestion of drainage. Causalities and Damages

Communication, Transportation and Electricity Power Communication No disruption in communication. Transportation Temporary disruption in local transportation was reported. There were several congestions in the main streets. Electricity Power No temporary electricity outage was reported. Response Local Health Authorities South Jakarta DHO has established health post in Pondok Labu (Hamlet 01), Karang Taruna (Ulul Jami village), Aljihadiah mosque, and PAUD Bintaro. East Jakarta BPBD has managed the situatuon and East Jakarta DHO has monitored the situation; Tangerang DHO has evacuated the victims, established health posts and provided medical services; Pinrang DHO has established the health posts and provided medical services. Pinrang DHO requested additional water purifier, abate and skin cream; Bandung DHO provided medical services through mobile puskesmas; and Wonogiri DHO has provided medical services in health posts and conducted disease surveillance.
