Language: French Objectives: Entertainment, then an industry, before being considered as an Art, much credit of the French cinema is given to the notion of an author promoted by filmmakers of the New Wave. This course offers the possibility of learning French through contact with outstanding films, as well as a historical, reflexive approach to cinema. Taking into account the intertextuality of films, in other words the references to other works, of their polysemy, or interpretation work required by the viewer, and their literarity, or the fact that they propose more complex structures than mass culture, we will reflect on what filmmakers of different generations say, the precursors of the New Wave, their heirs and filmmakers today, concerning the contribution to their society.
