FISKE LIBRARY SUMMER READING NEWSLETTER NEW THIS YEAR! ADULTS ARE WELCOME TO JOIN THE SUMMER READING CLUB!!!! Dear Friends, We are writing this letter to ask your support for our summer reading program at the Fiske Public Library. This summer Wrentham children, teens and adults are invited to participate in the 2016 Statewide Summer Library Program: ON YOUR MARK, GET SET… READ! We are asking library patrons, local businesses, banks, civic groups, etc. to donate items (gift certificates, raffle items, school supplies, coupons for free ice cream cones or slices of pizza etc.) to encourage Wrentham families to read together. We will use these as reading incentive prizes. We hope this will not only be good advertising for local merchants but also FUN for Wrentham readers. We will be happy to post names of supporters at the library, on our website and in our monthly newsletter. YOUR SUPPORT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! Thank you in advance for your support. Sincerely, Elizabeth Nadow, Children’s Librarian Mary Tobichuk, Director In conjunction with the Summer Reading Club we will be creating a “sports theme” photo booth for fun. If you have any sports related props, clothing etc. that we may borrow see Miss Liz. Thanks so much!

PINTO BELLA HOOPS Thursday July 21st FOR KIDS 10:30 AM TEENS AND ADULTS 6:30 PM The Pinto Bella Hoops library program has become a favorite of students and families around the USA. To start off the program, Pinto Bella speaks about the emotional, physical, and social benefits of hula hooping, describes the different types of hula hoops and their purposes, gives a brief history of the hula hoop, and tells audiences about her own journey with the hoop. After some brief hula hooping instructions, demonstration, and a short performance of where Hoop Dance can take a performer, the group gets to try hula hooping themselves, while Pinto Bella walks around to give one on one instruction, trouble shooting, and help with new tricks. After the group has all had opportunities to play and hoop around, we take some time for organized games that teach team work and communication with the hoop! To finish the day, every one finds a seat, we lower the lights, and Pinto Bella performs one last number with a delightful surprise! “This program was fresh, creative and generated plenty of smiles and laughs. Your enthusiasm, good humor and patience encouraged the whole group to let loose, try something new and have fun with the hoops.” ~The Abington Public Library, Abington, Massachusetts This program lasts one hour, though Pinto Bella sticks around for another 20-30 minutes to answer questions about hooping, where to take classes, and how to get your own hoop. Tickets available at the circulation desk on June 15th. Program is free but canned good donations will be gratefully accepted for the Wrentham Food Pantry. This program is supported with a grant from the SWEATT FUND.
