Dear Respected Colleagues, We are pleased to announce that 10th ITC Indian Tourism Congress, 2013 will be held at Kashmir University, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir on 8-10 March 2013. In this gracious occasion, we are going to discuss about current trends in tourism and hospitality industry. The participants are encouraged to explore the problems and possibilities of tourism and hospitality industry. The conference will feature technical sessions, leaving plenty of time for in-depth discussion in an informal atmosphere. Theme: Tourism and Hospitality Industry: Issues, Opportunities and Challenges. Thematic areas: 1. Contemporary issues in tourism and hospitality industry. 2. Tourism impact studies. 3. HR development for tourism industry. 4. Sustainable tourism development. 5. Heritage and cultural tourism. 6. Marketing and branding of tourism products. 7. Development of Sustainable Tourism in North India. Above list of thematic areas is not exhaustive. Related research would also be highly appreciated. Organizers The Business School, University of Kashmir in association with Indian Tourism Congress About Indian Tourism Congress Indian Tourism Congress (ITC) is a non-political, non-commercial organization of tourism academicians. It was formed in 2002 by group of leading tourism academics with the purpose to enhance the standard of teaching and research, further to promote its orderly growth and development needed to cater tourism industry. Prof. Manjula Chaudhary, Director, Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM), Gwalior is the President of ITC. Prof. Sandeep Kulshrestha of IITTM, Gwalior and Prof. S. P. Bansal, Vice-Chancellor, Maharaja Agrasen University, Himachal Pradesh are Sr. Vice President and Secretary General respectively.

About International and National Tourism Conferences Since its inception, Indian Tourism Congress (ITC) has been organizing International and National Tourism Conference in different parts of the Globe. Very recently, the 4th International ITC conference 2012 was held at Tashkent, Uzbekistan on “Changing Trends of Business Travel-From Silk Route to Contemporary MICE Tourism” on (10 to 13 August, 2012). The 9th ITC National Tourism Congress was organized by the Department of Business. About University of Kashmir: University of Kashmir which came into being in 1948 is located on the western side of the fabulous Dal Lake near the famous shrine of Hazratbal, which is eight kilometres away from the Tourist Reception Centre Srinagar. The lush green campus with delightful natural surroundings with the Himalayan Mountains in the background is spread over an area of 263 acres of land. The University has made steady progress in terms of academic growth and expansion, housing presently Faculties with 48 Teaching Departments and 14 Research Centres. In recognition of its great academic achievements, the University was awarded Grade ‘A’ by NAAC. The Business School is a professional school of management functioning within the University of Kashmir. It was established in the year 1991, with the objective to provide high quality management education to students. The School is presently offering courses in Master of Business Administration, Master of Travel and Hospitality Management, Five-year (Integrated) programme leading to the dual degree certification of Bachelor of Business (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Research programmes leading to M. for working executives and entrepreneurs for improving their managerial and administrative skills, Administrative Development Programmes for the officers in Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Services and Consultancy services to the organizations for solving their problems and upgrading their management practices. Registration Fees: The registration fee includes lodging (on twin sharing basis for first 60 accepted paper presenters) and full board: buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner for 3 nights (outside state delegates only) and also souvenir of abstracts and Local tour of Gulmarg. Contributions Prospective participants are invited to submit abstracts of 200-300 words in MS Word by e-mail to [email protected] abstract should contain author’s name, affiliation, address for communication, fax number and e-mail address. The name of the presenting author should be underlined. All abstract must be supplied in English and deadline for submission is January 5, 2013. The presenting author will be notified by January 10, 2013. Full papers should be submitted by February 5, 2013. Manuscript style will be communicated to authors whose abstracts are accepted for presentation in the Congress. Paper format guidelines for paper submission All papers must be consistent in format and layout as follows: Papers must start with a title page but showing only: Title:

Not more than ten words – bold centred 14 point Arial Author(s): Name, position, organisation – bold centred 12 point Arial (2 lines each author) Contact Details: Full address, phone, fax, email, web site (if any) – centred 12 point Arial Authors Bio-data: Authors should provide their biographical details, not more than 100 words. Keywords: Up to five keywords to be provided for indexing, cataloguing and classification purposes There should be no author identification after the title page. The page following the title page should show only: Title, then the abstract within the paper, then the main text Main Text: Minimum 3,000 maximum 6,000 words – including tables, figures and references – single-spaced - All photographs should be in High Resolution (More than 200 dpi) JPEG format. - Authors must try to fit in all the tables in the end of paper. Page numbering: All pages should be numbered in footer in the bottom centre of each page Headers: Please leave empty so that we can add the conference title, date and location to every page Citations and References: Harvard style. References in the text should be cited by the author's name and year of publication in brackets e.g. (Bansal, 1999: 22). Content of Papers Papers should demonstrate critical rigour and make clear their contribution to knowledge. They should also state their implications in relation to the theme of the conference, and their contribution to one or more of research, education, policy or practice Publication during the conference 1. Book containing Conference Papers. 2. ITC International Journal-2nd issue. Prior to the conference, The Business School and Indian Tourism Congress plans to bring out publications (with ISSN/ISBN number) of some selected

research contributions (after blind referring system) for the conference in the shape of a book containing conference papers and the ITC International Journal2nd issue. It is desired that research papers should be submitted well in time and strictly as per the guidelines. Full length quality papers are invited for the above publications by February 05, 2013. Format for Presentations The presentation should be prepared using Microsoft PowerPoint. The presentation will then be copied onto a CD Rom and will be ready for you to present at your allotted time. No more than 15 PowerPoint slides should be included covering background, aims, methodology and findings. Who can attend?
