Finnish considerations The actors in the maritime field satisfied with the Maritime Code (1994) + ”shipping terms” Most part of goods transportation to and from Finland is intra-European (”short sea shipping”+ rail/lorry in both ends) Some 60 % of containers transshipped in European ports to/from ocean going vessels (e.g. consumer goods) Finland has problems with the multimodal part of the Convention (article 26) Global rules for a global market - but will this Convention fly? Will USA and China join? WWW.MINTC.FI 14
