HOW TO CREATE A calendar Get started Shutterfly calendars are perfect for marking time and sharing memories. Our Classic and Collage Calendars are available in 12- and 18-month formats and you can start your calendar on any month. We include nearly 50 pre-printed holidays and you can also customize your calendar with special events you want to remember. The calendars are printed on durable card stock so you can jot down notes and appointments. Our Calendar Posters are poster-size and allow you to easily view the year at a glance. We’re going to show you how to quickly and easily create our Classic, Collage and Calendar Posters. To begin, sign in to your Shutterfly account. (If you don’t already have one, click “Sign up” at the top of the page.) Click the “Store” tab and from the column on the left of the page, select the “Calendars” link. (Figure 1)

Choose the type of calendar you want to create. For a Collage Calendar, select layouts that include multiple pictures for each month and pick from pre-designed backgrounds to frame your photos. For a Classic Calendar, select one picture per month; each can be displayed with an optional border. For a Calendar Poster, select either the 16x20- or 20x30-size; you’ll determine style and orientation later. (Figure 2) When you’ve chosen the calendar type, click the “Go” button directly underneath it to start. If you’ve chosen to make a Calendar Poster, proceed directly to the Create a Calendar Poster step in this tutorial.

HOW TO CREATE A calendar Choose styles, backgrounds and layouts Once you’ve chosen the type of calendar, it’s time to choose a style, if you’re in collage mode, or choose a layout, if you’re in classic mode. For Collage Calendars, browse through the Style palette on the left. Click on each box to view the sample backgrounds, and then choose the Style that best suits your calendar. Remember, each month can have a different background of any style, and you can change them at any time during the Edit step. (Figure 4) Figure 4

For Classic Calendars, browse through the Layouts palette on the left using the scroll bar and the pulldown menu. Choose the layout that best suits your calendar; if you’d like to apply that layout to each month, save time by clicking “Apply selected to all pages at the bottom.” Remember, each month can have a different layout, and you can change them at any time during the Edit step. (Figure 5) At this point, you’ll want to save your calendar so that if you take a break, you can pick up right where you left off. Click the “Save” button on the upper-right and name your calendar, and then click “Save” in the dialog box. You’ll find your saved calendar in “My projects” under the My Shutterfly tab. (Figure 6)
