FIBER CEMENT CORRUGATED SHEETS VLAKNOCEMENTNE VALOVITE PLO©»E Fiber cement corrugated sheets are made from natural raw materials. They are non-pollutant, compatible with their environment and ecologically harmless. Esal fiber cement products fully comply with the requirements of the standard EN 494.

FIBER CEMENT

40% - binder-cement 11% - additives

2% - reinforced fibers

5% - process fibers

12% - water

Fiber cement is cement reinforced with fibers, which, in its fresh, plastic state, is workable into virtually any shape and form. The curing process turns the material form-stable. The strong points of fiber cement are its excellent performance in severe weather conditions, favorable vapor permeability, high toughness at minimal thickness, frost resistance, inflammability and biological resistance.

30% - air

APPLICATION Fiber cement sheets are economical and functional. The product lends itself both for new buildings and for the refurbishment of existing roofs. The sheets are light in weight which reflects in the economical supporting structure as well as in the easy handling and installation of the product.

FASTENING Fiber cement corrugated sheets should be fixed to timber purlins with self drilling screws SCFW-BAZ and with self drilling screws SCF-3-BAZ or SCF-12-BAZ to steel purlins, respectively.

HANDLING When transporting, unloading, carrying and storing the sheets, care should be taken to avoid any damage. Sheets should be stacked on a level surface and protected with plastic or other suitable material from weather and dust. Adequate airflow through and around the stack should be allowed for. Sheets should be lifted off the stack, not dragged.

INSTALLATION OF FIBER CEMENT CORRUGATED SHEETS The sheets should be installed by trades people adequately instructed in working with fiber cement corrugated sheets. The sheets must be fixed in accordance with our fixing instructions for corrugated sheets, Profile 5 and 8, respectively.

GUARANTEE Esal corrugated sheets are guaranteed for a 10 year period, providing that all recommendations by Esal, valid at the time of installation, regarding planning, construction, storage and installation of the product are fully complied with and that only fasteners and other accessories specified by Esal are being used. This guarantee covers weather resistance, water impermeability, frost resistance and color coating, allowing for natural aging. During this period faulty fiber cement products will be replaced ex works free of charge.

COLORS Esal corrugated sheets and moulded goods are manufactured and supplied in four colors: gray, dark gray, brown and red. The sheets are colored in the mass and surface coated. Moulded goods are surface coated.

Our corrugated sheets, Profile 5, are provided with built-in safety strips to reduce the danger of a person breaking through a damaged portion of the roof surface. However, the safety strips do not increase the load bearing capacity in the serviceable range of the corrugated sheets. Minimum roof pitch is 7 degrees. On a roof surface with a pitch of 10 degrees, or less, the end laps of the corrugated sheets must be provided with a permanently plastic sealing strip, 7 mm/ 0,28” thick. The table above shows the purlin spacings for corrugated sheets, Profile 5, of various lengths for roofs of moderate exposure. Where corrugated sheets, Profile 5, are used on open and/or high buildings, in exposed locations or at high altitudes, purlin spacings must be determined by project-specific structural calculations.
