FaxCore 2007 SP2 Release Notes Introduction

This release is the revision of FaxCore 2007 SP2 builds. SP2 features cross-browser compatibility and support new Boston driver released from Dialogic. SP2 also mark the first step for FaxCore to support deployment in Windows Server 2008 R2 platform. It is highly advisable to perform Windows Update with FaxCore server prior to performing product update to ensure the server is patched up with the latest security fixes. This is to prevent any disruptions during the SP2 update process as well as to prevent FaxCore to stop functioning due to certain critical security issues with the system that requires an update. Please note if you have made custom changes to the UI or labels please consult FaxCore Support to facilitate with the update.

New Features                          

New licensing enforcement. Licensing info is available on Admin Panel. New licensed port management from FaxAgent utility page. Admin help file is now available via help link from Admin Panel. Request password link is now available from login page. Localization covers login page. Display error when primary email address duplication occurred during user creation or update. HTTP notification extended to allow http method selection (POST, PUT). Applicable for notification only. Render agent has resume function to continue a rendering job that is interrupted upon service restarted. Gateway - support UNC file path for control file attachment. Gateway - update relay processor to support dynamic attachment file recognition based on input from XST. Gateway - Embedded codes extended to include option to remove first page from attached file. (^[R) (available in Rollup Update1) Gateway - Embedded codes support email address in recipient. Gateway - Custom gateway configuration support. Allow multiple instance of supported gateway type. Fax Agent - Logging feature extended to allow file size and iteration limits. Parse current page on border text printing (network print). New columns added to address book grid (user panel). Admin side search panel accepts alpha and punctuation characters in the Message # filter. (Applicable to admin panel only) Print border using Vertical Left and Vertical Right is missing Vertical Left value after the printing takes place. Vertical Right Top value only appears on 2/3 of an A4 sized paper. Fax transaction with 2 file drop recipients, 1 being in PDF format and the other in TIF format, only one of file will be sent and the results would be random. Sometimes recipient with the PDF format gets created but sometimes the recipient with the TIF format gets created. When creating a new fax message, prefixing the Recipient Name with the character “ FAX SETTINGS (both SYSTEM and sub domains) . Cover pages are visible in user’s Fax Settings drop-down list. When patching up customers with SP1 which has the Broadcast tool feature, clicking NEW to create a new broadcast fax on the UI will throw page error. By going to user’s profile to ENABLE and then DISABLE the broadcast options under Permission to get the page load up properly again. Problem with import contact/user from CSV (Thai/Chinese language). Thai words are not read. Multiple fax notification failed to deliver. Multiple wildcard in inbound routing rules doesn’t work Printers created on sub-domains and configured with Public visibility cannot be viewed by users of the same domain and its sub-domain when adding print address on User Profile in admin panel. Delivery Template – add new template display success message but doesn’t appear on grid, even after page refresh. Delivery template grid – when select page 2 on a grid, then changes the domain to other selection, page/grid return error “Specified argument was out of the range of valid values. Parameter name: value” This happen when the selected domain doesn’t have page 2. Need to handle this error properly. Removed "Internal User" from Preferred Address Type in admin panel

On the details tab under the image viewer page, the Transaction Status Def attribute does not display the entire error message length. This error is due to update wf_render record after rendering failed Admin Panel User Setting UI: Delivery template selection does not follow user’s domain. When editing existing outbound routing rule, revising the Assign Method option from “Ports” to “Groups” does not show the list of group drop down list Exchange address book contact listing works in FaxCore U.I. but not in Print Driver. The email notification address is not added when importing users from a CSV file with the email column explicitly specified with an attachment format (TIF/PDF) preference. (Error Result: Email is not imported due to: Invalid email address.) The password attribute in the file drop notification address is not “displayed” when importing users from a CSV file. When the following notification type FILE/EMAIL/FTP/HTTP is explicitly specified with an attachment format (TIF/PDF) preference in the user CSV import file, the format type is overridden by the format specified in the “FileFormat” column within the user CSV import file. The email address type is not added after importing contacts from a CSV file with the email column explicitly specified with an attachment format (TIF/PDF) preference. (Error Result: Email is not imported due to: Invalid email address.) When importing contacts with the following EMAIL/FTP/HTTP column specified with an attachment format (TIF/PDF) preference in the CSV import file, the attachment type is ignored. When importing contacts with the following FILE column specified with an attachment format (TIF/PDF) preference in the CSV import file, the attachment type is ignored and replaced with the option specified in the import page. For contacts imported via CSV that contains a FILE destination address, the “domain” information is not displayed in the File logon attribute at the contact management window.

SMTPGateway appends the following characters “; “ to the billing code when sending email to fax using the extended recipient format: 17208704141/Dennis_Fong/FaxCore_Asia/TRCK01/[email protected] Procedure or function 'fxsp_RIB_Status_upd_byExpr' expects parameter '@xDestExpr', which was not supplied. controlFile Gateway: The following key does not append the user’s cover page to the transaction. controlFile Gateway: The noCover attribute is ignored by the gateway services. When importing users using custom header, FaxCore prompts for a *.txt extension header control file but importing contacts does not prompt for such requirement. To standardize the control file extension type. Import contact to domain address book does not assigned to intended address book, but to default address book ID 0. When attempting to import contacts to a user and leaving the “Address Book” attribute selection as –New Address Book-, the import process says its completed however upon checking, the address book name of –New Address Book- is not created. Validation is proposed to counter this issue. The problem is applicable for both admin and user side. On Message Queue/Schedule in Admin Panel: Grids lost its data after purge is performed on the last page of the grid with all items selected. Error thrown when Refresh interval changed. The column PreferAddressType in the user import CSV file is case sensitive which breaks the user importing process; to remove case validation. When sorting address book by Company Name, error message is prompted: “Invalid column name”. Users are still able to edit contact addresses found in domain address books when the permission to edit is disabled Send fax from Outlook with business fax as recipient, $$MESSAGE.SENDER_NAME$$ token is not populated in CP. Token $$MESSAGE.RECIPIENT_LIST$$ cannot show full list of recipients on cover page Changes made in the “Default User Privilege” attribute is not reflected when a new user is created. The User Role option does not match The check box in the Domain Management > Groups page does not activate the grid selection highlight. This prevents user from deleting/moving domains they have checked Custom dialing rules is not being applied. Resend message from message viewer return idatareader related error. Ainne, you might close the reader too soon. Items listed in the Action Title drop down list found on the Audit Trail page have a text selection problem. Selecting or mouse-over the list and text that appear longer than 20 characters are abruptly cut off. Message with status Exceed Page Limit did not send error notification to sender. The rescheduling function for the following transaction types: Email, HTTP, FTP, File & Printer from the Network Settings > Message Schedule page does not work. Email notifications are delayed for few seconds before being sent and the email queue does not clear up due to the backlog created by the delay.

Known Issues  

Google Chrome and Safari browser have issue displaying certain UI in Admin Panel (Domain Management and Search). Cover page edit barcode toolbar append short/relative URL to imgbc.aspx instead of full URL as set in server settings.

Installation Notes

For new installation, please use FaxCore2007 SP2 installer (Click to download). Follow the installation guide and make sure the server is running latest security patch before installing. For existing FaxCore 2007 installation, please use FaxCore 2007 SP2 RU1 updater (Click to download) FaxCore 2007 SP2 installer now bundles with SQL Server 2008 R2 x86. Please perform Windows Update before being installation. FaxCore installation will require the server to reboot during or after the installation.

Print Driver Update For new installation; please download the installer from here.
