OUR COMMUNITY Etihad Airways continues to drive economic growth According to the latest study by leading global advisory firm, Oxford Economics, Etihad Airways, together with its asubsidiary and joint venture organisations, continued to play a crucial role in supporting and driving economic growth in the UAE across the following three key areas:
The core economic growth contributions are classified into a number of key areas: direct (within Etihad), indirect (suppliers to Etihad), induced (spending of direct and indirect employees) and catalytic (impacts on other industries). In 2014, Etihad Airways’ core operations and capital expenditure contributed a total of US$ 6.4 billion to Abu Dhabi and supported over 67,000 jobs in total.

Etihad Airways’ services around the world acted as a critical facilitator for the UAE’s domestic tourism industry, which contributed US$ 945 million and 12,106 jobs in 2014.

Partners contribution:
Etihad Airways’ strategic equity partners continued to support the economic growth of the UAE in 2014, and had a core economic contribution of US$141 million and supported 1,000 jobs in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. In addition they had a positive tourism impact, contributing over US$330 million to the Abu Dhabi tourism industry, and provided connectivity benefits of almost US$800 million.
