Sask. Valley Riding Club

The Sask Valley Riding Club was formed in 1996 and is made up of members of all ages, promoting a family atmosphere. The club holds several events throughout the year to support causes or charities that are of special interest to its members including the Kinsmen Telemiracle Foundation, the Equine Health Research Fund, and Breast Cancer Research. Some of the events organized include fun gymkhanas, poker rally’s, the Telemiracle Pony Express 8-Day Ride. In addition, we coordinate various riding clinics for club members throughout the year and take part in as many local parades as we can. Weekly winter riding was added in 2011. Both English and Western riders can enjoy some of the advantages of membership, including access to our library which contains an assortment of training videos and books. As a club we enjoy spending time with other people, both riders and non-riders alike, that share our interest in horses. In doing so, we are given a chance to learn from each other and the various experts we have contact with along the way. Our goals include helping each other, helping our horses and helping our community. Whether you’re just looking for some new people to ride with or for the opportunity to learn a little more about your horse in a relaxed atmosphere, the Club may be right for you. Come on out and let’s see what we can learn from each other. Contact Ashley Woodvine - president at 306-881-9336 or email SaskValley RidingClub@ gmail.com. Sask Five Giants Baseball

The inaugural year of the Sask Five Giants Association has been a resounding success. Registrations were up over 25% for the last year attracting over 225 kids to the sport this year. Our teams throughout the association were extremely competitive at the various levels in the Saskatoon Baseball league. With the help of the staff of Going Yard we started off the year with skill development which continued throughout the season. I believe we had a great deal of fun this year and look forward to another great year in 2017. With a great deal of work from volunteers and the City of Martensville our diamonds have never looked better than this year. Watch for updates on facebook and our website (http://saskfivegiants.com) for information on many improvements planned for the upcoming year. A huge thanks also goes out to all the coaches, managers and umpires that were involved in baseball throughout the year. Without your dedication to teams and the association this would not be possible. I look forward to seeing everyone “on the field” in the upcoming year.

Thank you to the residents of the constituency of Martensville-Warman for your overwhelming support! It is humbling and an honour to be asked to be your MLA and your voice in Regina. I look forward to serving you over the next 4 years.

New Horizons Seniors

The New Horizon Centre invites 55+ to join us for our social hours and other activities. The social hour includes potluck suppers, games, cards, and visiting on Monday evenings at 5:30pm. We have also started a DROP-IN for coffee, cards, pool or shuffle board on Thursday mornings at 10:00am and it is open to anyone who would like to come. We will be starting again in September through the winter months. Come for lots of fun and fellowship. We are located at 106 4th Ave N. Other activities subsidized by a Saskatchewan Lotteries grant include MAP passes, trips to Watrous, the Barn Playhouse, Forestry Farm, and various entertainment. Membership fees are only $30 for the whole year.

We also invite you to come and experience our newly renovated centre as a member or a rental group. Thanks to grants from Affinity Credit Union, our facility has a freshly painted and cleaned interior, a newly installed fresh air exchanger and blinds. The kitchen has also received new flooring, sinks and countertops. The bathrooms are now completely renovated, including flooring, vanities and sinks. We also had the carpets removed and new lino installed. A fresh new look!!
