1. THE INTERNET
The internet is a large body of information that can be accessed by individuals through computers. It can also be used to communicate with friends.

If you don’t want this, unmark this box. • Security question: in case you forget your password gmail moderator will ask you to choose the same question again and answer it. Choose the question that you will remember. Remember the answer. This prevents other people from finding out your password. • Answer: you have to answer the question and remember your answer. • Secondary mail: if you will forget your password, gmail moderator will send it to this email adress. You can write your mother’s, father’s, brother’s, sister’s email address here – ask for their permission first. If you can’t write the email address of anybody, leave the box empty. • Location: the country you live in. • Word verification: retype the funny letters in the box above. If you do not type them correctly, a new word will appear and you will have to retype it. • You can read Terms of Service, Program Policy and Privacy policy. They explain

You have to retype them in the box below them. After you retype the words, it is recommendable to read “About“ Facebook, Terms of “Privacy” and “Terms” of use. They explain everything concernig the privacy of your information. By making your Facebook account you accept the Facebook policy. 12

2.1.4. Log out Every time you stop using Facebook, you have to log out. By doing that you prevent somebody else using your Facebook account on the same computer.

You log out by clicking on “Log out”.
Your Facebook profile is your Facebook page. Here is where you present yourself to others on Facebook. This is also where all the information about your Facebook activities are displayed.
INFORMATION ABOUT YOU 2.1.5. Comfirmation email When you log out of Facebook for the first time, you will receive a “confirmation email” from Facebook to your email with a link. YOU HAVE TO CLICK ON THAT LINK to confirm your Facebook account, otherwise it will not work.
2.2. LOG IN When you have successfully created your Facebook account, you don’t have to sign up anymore. You “log in”. You log in by: • Going to www.facebook.com. • Typing in:
- Your email address.
- Your Facebook password.
You can edit your profile when creating your Facebook account or any time later. You can also change your profile information whenever you want.
• Click “Log in”. When you log in, your Facebook Home Page will always appear. From your Home Page you can enter your profile page, find friends etc. 14

2.7. NOTIFICATIONS Whenever your friends do something involving you on Facebook (such as commenting on a photo etc.), you will get a notification. A number of notifications appear in a red cloud. Read a notification by clicking on it.

Go to your friend’s profile (by clicking on their name). Enter your message to the publisher click “Share”. Your message will be posted to your friend’s wall and all his friends will be able to read it.

2.8.1. HOW TO WISH HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR FRIENDS ON FACEBOOK People are happy when their friends remember their birthdays and wish them “happy birthday”. On your Facebook Home Page you can see if any of your friends is having a birthday on that day or in the following days. You can see this on the right side of the page under Events. How to wish happy birthday on Facebook? • Write on your friend’s wall: go to your friend’s profile, write your message in the publisher on his wall. All your friend’s friends will be able to see that message. Usually many people write on their friends’ walls for their birthday. • Post something on your friend’s wall: go to your friend’s profile. Under his publisher you can attach a photo, video, a link, a note etc. to your friend’s wall. Everyone will be able to see what you have posted. • Send a gift to your friend: go to your friend’s profile, click “gifts” under your friend’s publisher and select a gift. Since these gifts are not free, you are advised to send your friend only a birthday message that you can make more interesting by adding it web link to a funny video clip or picture. This way you can create unique virtual gifts for your friends. Click “share” and your gift will be published on your friend’s wall. Everybody will be able to see it.
• If you like something your friend has written, his photo, activity etc. you can click “Like”. • If you later change your mind, you can click “Unlike”. • You can post a comment to your friend’s status, picture, post etc. by clicking “Comment” and writing it in the box.
