How We Make Team Building Easy 1 - Atlanta Challenge brings the team building to your location. Atlanta Challenge is based here in Atlanta. We can bring most of our programs to any location you choose: your office, a local park, a hotel, or any other site in the metro area that works for you and your team.

2 - Atlanta Challenge has fun events with powerful lessons. Your team will learn best if they are having fun and feel that the program is a good use of their time. We work hard to make sure you look like a hero after the event!

3 - Atlanta Challenge has something for everyone. We design each event to have a variety of activities and challenges so that everyone in the group has something they can shine at, and ideas they can use back at the office.

4 - Atlanta Challenge has great pricing. No hidden travel costs Many companies fly in from out of state and therefore have high travel expenses rolled into their rates. We’re local, so we can keep our rates low and save your budget. No sales people You work directly with our trainers, not sales people, so you only pay for the team building. This also means we are focused on helping you find the right program, not the most expensive one. Per-person pricing With Atlanta Challenge, you never pay a flat rate that is padded for a lot more people than you may have. Our rates are based on the group size you have so that you only pay for what you need.

5 - Atlanta Challenge has customer-friendly policies. Being a local company means we can respond to changes quickly, and don’t have to have outrageous cancellation fees or nickel and dime you for small changes.

Rates & Scheduling Information About Our Rates Each event has a rate chart at the bottom of the first page. To calculate what the total would be, just multiply the number of people in your group times the appropriate rate (unless your group is within the “up to” minimum range, then it’s just that flat rate for the entire program).

your group size

x

the per person rate for the program you select

=

your total

For example: Your team wants to do a 3 hour Teamwork Quest event and you have 45 people. The per person rate for that event at that size is $57, so your total would be 45 ppl x $57 = $2565. That’s it! There are NO additional charges, fees or taxes, except for out of town events and custom designs. We will always disclose these special fees up front.

Scheduling Your Event When you are ready to reserve your date, simply send us the details below. We will then prepare your confirmation materials and send them to you right away. We typically only require a deposit for service projects, out of state travel or custom events. The Teamwork Compass® A powerful metaphor to help your group apply the lessons from their team building event. While it’s important for your team to have a lot of fun during your event, it’s even more important that everyone take away practical lessons. In order to give participants enduring tools they can use after the event, we draw on the metaphor of a compass, with each direction representing one of the four areas of team success: Effectiveness, Innovation, Accountability and Trust. These four traits are based on a four-quadrant thinking styles system, which leads to better understanding and implementation of the lessons from your team building experience by engaging the entire brain and drawing from everyone’s unique strengths.

East

A half-day workshop that enhances communication skills, creative problem solving, and teamwork. OVERVIEW Through a combination of cutting-edge tools, interactive learning, and hands-on challenges, your team will gain valuable insights into their thinking and decisionmaking styles, and how to appreciate and utilize other people’s styles. This will help them improve their ability to communicate, brainstorm and solve problems together. The “teamwork challenges” are tailored to meet the needs and dynamics of your group.

GOALS “Thank you so much for an OUTSTANDING team building session! You can’t imagine what an impact you had on our team. All of the activities highlighted the opportunities we had to inspect our style and habits, but the last activity really drove home the fact that although we thought we were acting cohesively we really weren’t. You challenged us to think differently and for that we are grateful!” ~SunTrust

Agenda & Activity Descriptions Welcome & Warm-Ups (10-15 minutes) An Atlanta Challenge facilitator welcomes the group and sets the expectations for the workshop, then leads some fun activities that break the ice and help get everyone invested in the program.

Driven To Succeed Teams are provided with materials for constructing a small car, but they have a strict budget and timeline to stay within, plus other criteria to meet, in order to satisfy customer demands. The focus is on team brainstorming, and cross department collaboration.

Thinking Styles Module (45-60 minutes) This is an interactive learning game where participants gain valuable insights into their own thinking and decisionmaking styles, and how to appreciate and utilize other people’s styles (see “Thinking Styles Module” description page).

Iceberg Dilemma The penguins are living on a melting iceberg. To escape, they must create a new business for themselves that will ensure their survival. The team must utilize at least one real skill of each team member in their solution. This game challenges teams to set a clear vision, and demands lateral thinking and good use of scarce resources.

Pressure Cooker (20 minutes) Small teams come up with a list of specific experiences in the workplace that are causing them stress. The team then brainstorms a variety of solutions to these challenges using the whole-brain format to ensure a wide variety of options to implement.

Wrap-up Activity (15-30 minutes) The team shares their observations about how they performed, and how to apply those lessons to specific situations faced on the job. We end with a fun, but thought provoking activity and a team picture.

Teamwork Challenges (60-120 minutes) These hands-on activities require brainstorming, collaboration, planning and creative problem-solving to complete. The challenges are designed specifically to help your team utilize their new understanding of “whole-brain” thinking and to apply those lessons in order to make the team more effective. Many exercises are available based on the specific needs of your team. Sample challenge activities:

An activity-based program that helps teams break out of silos and stop internal competition. OVERVIEW In this fun, hands-on program, teams design and build a vehicle from an assortment of materials. They must meet certain design parameters, while staying within their budget. Then their vehicle will compete against other teams to try and outperform them and earn the biggest bonus. This is a great program for teams that love a good challenge. Team conversations focus on how to solve problems in a group, think out of the box, and work collaboratively.

GOALS “Everything went great and we all had a great time!!! We learned some great things about a team's dynamics and how competition can sometimes get in the way of the whole team's goal. Great stuff!” ~ US Army

demands, but many teams will miss the part that says ALL the teams must meet the minimum requirements or no one wins. This leads to an eye-opening conversation about how internal dynamics can cause loss of business.

Optional: Thinking Styles Module (45-60 minutes) In this interactive learning game, participants gain valuable insights into their own strengths on a team, and how to appreciate and utilize other people’s strengths. Using this knowledge, participants evaluate how they can be better team players and support their team mates.

Team Review & Wrap-up Activity (15 minutes) The team shares their observations about how they performed, and how to apply those lessons to specific situations faced on the job. We end with a fun, but thought provoking activity and a team picture with their trophies and cars.

Optional: Fundraising Challenges (30-90 minutes) The teams earn revenue for the main event by working through a series of assignments that require brainstorming, collaboration, planning and creative problem-solving. Some of the possible activities include team and/or company trivia, brainteasers, or hands-on team projects (activity selection is determined based on space available, time allowed and goals of the group).

Service-Project Option Teams use the points they have earned in the main activity to “shop” for toys from our table-top store, buying as many toys as they can and placing them into gift bags to donate to local kids. Add $10-$15 per person.

Construction Challenge (60 minutes) Teams are given the scenario of meeting a tall order by an important client. Using the materials provided to them, teams design and build a solution to the customer’s needs, aiming for the maximum distance travelled. They also have tight performance measures to meet and a strict budget to operate within. Attention to detail, strategy and brainstorming are the keys to team success. Testing Grounds (10 minutes) Teams line up, present their creations, and then demonstrate their performance for all to see. Teams earn points based on how well their team’s project does, provided it meets all of the customer

10

A fast-paced program that promotes strategic thinking and problem solving. OVERVIEW Teams of 8-12 people attempt to accumulate as many points as they can in this fast-paced team strategy event. Several challenges with varying point values are available for teams to overcome at their own pace. Although presented as a competition, cross-team collaboration is always possible. This program can also be an effective “Leadership Reaction Course.”

GOALS  Appreciate and effectively utilize diverse skills sets. I just wanted to follow up and let you know that my team had an OUTSTANDING time at the Atlanta Challenge team building event. We will definitely use your services again with our extended team. It was a “10”. Thanks. ~ Novelis

 Utilize problem solving skills to accomplish short-term and long-term goals.  Have fun together, building morale and camaraderie.  Develop creative problem solving strategies.  Learn how to work as a team in a competitive atmosphere.

Agenda & Activity Descriptions Welcome & Warm-Ups (5-10 minutes) Atlanta Challenge staff welcome the participants and set expectations for the event. We then lead some fun warm-up activities that also randomly create small teams. Each team creates a name and slogan which represent their commitment to success and teamwork.

Corporate Maze In this challenge, every person on your team must go through a maze within the designated time. All participants must find the path to the other side through trial and error. Of course, there are a few stipulations. The object is for the team to learn from each other's "successes" and focus on effective problem solving through the process of elimination.

Small Team Intros & Strategy Session (10 minutes) Participants get to know their teammates better and decide what their strategy will be for getting the most points that they can.

Raising the Bar All of your team members will reach new heights during this quick initiative. Everyone must maintain contact with the helium hoop and simply lower it to the ground using only their forefingers. Sound easy? Give it a try! This initiative will test your teams' ability to work together and focus on the task "on hand."

Team Challenges (60-120 minutes) The event area will have 15-30 activity stations set up depending on group and venue size. Here are some examples: Key Punch This game is a simulation of the “manufacturing process.” A task will be presented to the group to touch all of the spots in the “production area” and certain rules or “production processes” will be introduced. The ultimate goal is to develop the fastest possible method for touching all of the spots and maintain the highest level of quality control.

Turn Over a New Leaf The team must accomplish the seemingly simple task of getting everyone standing on top of a completely open tarp to stand on the opposite side without anyone stepping off. This activity requires problem solving skills, communication, and effective team involvement. Scoring (15 minutes) Teams turn in their score sheets and prepare their final team presentations.

Bull Ring In this activity, participants must transport a ball from the top of a stake to another stake which is about 30 feet away. Here's the tricky part - no one can touch the stake or the ball. Your team will have a very limited amount of time to accomplish this task. This initiative will focus on quality control, communication, and effective problem solving.

Team Presentations (10-15 minutes) Teams come together at the end of the program to share their insights about what it takes to be successful when they are responsible for defining success, and how to apply those lessons for greater team accomplishment.

12

Quick and to-the-point individual activities for break-out sessions, energizers and more. OVERVIEW Sometimes there just isn’t enough time for a full team building session. If you have 30 to 90 minutes to fill, and want to make a strong point, or just let your group unwind during a big meeting, we can deliver a tailored activity that will get everyone involved, thinking and having fun.

GOALS  Energize meeting participants.  Integrate new skills from presentations.

“The event was great. Your staff did an excellent job! We enjoyed the challenges and learning more about our company leadership styles. We look forward to having you do more events in the near future.” ~ Hospital Housekeeping Systems

 Build morale and camaraderie between departments.  Appreciate how teamwork can solve challenges that individuals can not.

LOGISTICS Length: Activity: Location: Includes:

30 minutes to 1 hour depending on your schedule. Light Indoors (with some outdoor possibilities) Complete facilitation and program materials.

RATES Due to the wide variety of different challenges and time allocations, these are quoted per event. They range from $10 to $30 per person depending on complexity of activity, duration of the activity, and the size of the group. Minimum group size is 50 people. Call for selection and rates for groups of more than 300.

Agenda & Activity Descriptions Warm-Ups (2 minutes) Atlanta Challenge staff lead some fun warm-up activities that get the group moving and ready to fully participate. Team-Up (2 minutes) If the group is not already split into teams, we conduct a fun, light-activity game to randomly sort participants into teams. This is also a good idea if the group has been sitting at the same tables for an extended time. Challenge (20-90 minutes) Teams are given instructions and materials for the activity. During the activity the Atlanta Challenge staff are available for questions, and will take pictures during the activity. Build your team’s commitment to excellence, while making a difference to local kids. OVERVIEW The scene is set in Egypt, as teams of 8-10 participants work their way through the archeological site of an ancient Egyptian temple to obtain the parts for a child’s toy. The challenges are a combination of proven, tabletop problem-solving initiatives and mental challenges that will help your team identify the behaviors of optimum teamwork. Bonus challenges let teams earn accessories or additional toys. The goal of donating a completed toy to charity is a great metaphor for staying focused on the big picture.

Agenda & Activity Descriptions Welcome & Warm-Ups (20-30 minutes) Atlanta Challenge staff welcome the participants and set expectations for the event. Team Up! (5 minutes) We lead some fun warm-up activities that also randomly create small teams.

The Oracle Message To gain access to the next chamber, your team must appease the local Oracle. Teams will need to demonstrate their intelligence, appreciation for Egyptian wisdom, and ability to work together in their teams and as an organization

Recovery Challenges (90-120 minutes) Teams attempt to recover the parts for their toy by completing a series of challenges. These activities are more mentally than physically challenging.

The Celestial River The Egyptians believed it was an important step in the process of entering the afterlife to cross the celestial river. Using the materials provided, each team must cross this legendary obstacle.

The Obelisk Mystery At the entrance to the Temple of Harpocrates stands an obelisk. Each team member is given a few cryptic clues that only they can see, but when combined, the team will be able to unravel the mystery, IF they can communicate effectively.

Accessory Challenges Teams complete additional challenges, such as trivia, brainteasers, and hilarious “facilitator missions,” to earn points for purchasing accessories for their toy. Assembly (15 minutes) Teams assemble, accessorize, and inspect their toys.

The Four Keys The Ancient Egyptians guarded their treasures with incredible feats of engineering. Your team will need to open four locks using the several tangram pieces available, but each person is the only one who can control their piece.

Group Discussion (5-10 minutes) All teams come together to share their experiences and lessons learned. Charity Introduction (5 minutes) We present an overview of the charity that will be receiving the toys. A representative from the charity may be available to accept the toys.

The Secret Symbol The Ancient Egyptians made great use of symbolism in their culture. Your team must determine which path is the correct one to take by correctly communicating the information you each have, but without anyone speaking.

Wrap-Up (5 minutes) We end with a few final words and a group picture with the completed toys.

Toy Options:

The Court of the Underworld One of the “Seven Steps To Paradise” was to be led into the great Court of the Underworld by the god Aker. Teams must find a path through the maze, using the team device.

Replace the standard cocktail reception with an international taste-testing teamwork race. OVERVIEW This program is similar to our “Amazing Worldwide Race,” but teams solve clues to reach “countries” where everyone tries either a dessert item or a beverage from that country. If your team has done the typical cocktail reception too many items, this may be the perfect mixer at the end of a long day of meetings. Build teamwork, develop relationships, and have a lot of fun all at the same time.

GOALS & OUTCOMES  Re-energize your team after a long day of meetings.

Agenda & Activity Descriptions Welcome & Warm-Ups (5-10 minutes) Atlanta Challenge staff welcome the participants and introduce the event. We then lead some fun activities to get everyone moving.

Travel Challenges: As teams are “traveling”, or while waiting to be served, they can work on these bonus projects. This helps to keep everyone engaged, and also serves as a tie breaker.

Team Up (5-10 minutes) Utilizing a few fun and interactive “games,” we randomly create small teams. Each team creates a name and cheer for their group.

Team Bingo: Instead of only talking to the people on their team, players will need to seek out people on other teams in this fun get-to-know-you game.

The Race (1-2 hours) Teams solve clues that lead them to a series of “destinations,” where they will taste a sample of each country’s wine, beer, cheese or other treat. The selections can be all one category, or a mixture. To ensure that everyone stays active the entire time, the event is scored based on how many total points a team achieves before time runs out, rather than who finishes first.

World Trivia: Teams demonstrate their worldly knowledge in this travel-based trivia challenge. Photo Shoot: These are fun pictures that teams take of themselves, and sometimes with other teams, to help stretch their creativity and build camaraderie. Scoring (15 minutes) Teams finalize their score sheets and complete their team debrief questions page. All team scores are announced from lowest to highest. Winning team members receive a “trophy” to celebrate their success.

Destination Clues: Teams solve clues to determine their destination, then they take their “ticket” to the appropriate destination station. Destination Challenges: When teams “arrive” at their destination, they will complete a fun challenge. These include brainteasers, trivia, video productions, and other challenges based on the food for that country.

Wrap-Up (5-10 minutes) At the end of the program, the teams come together to share their experiences and the lessons they have learned.

Food Samples: Teams will stop at the appropriate food sampling station for the country they are “in.”

An engaging mix of trivia, music, and hands-on challenges in a fun and competitive format. OVERVIEW This lively team competition gets groups thinking and laughing together. Working in table-teams of 6-10 people, teams try to earn the highest score by correctly answering a wide range of trivia questions, competing in special challenges, and solving brainteasers. We make the program challenging, but keep it light enough that everyone can relax, get involved, and have a good time.

GOALS  Practice resource management and pooling knowledge. Atlanta Challenge hosted a great event for us and we are very pleased. From my surveys, Game Show was the favorite part of the day overall. Thank you so much for the fun and energy and we will call you again for the next opportunity with this group. THANK YOU! ~ PowerPlan

Agenda & Activity Descriptions Welcome & Warm-Ups (5 minutes) Atlanta Challenge staff welcome the participants and give a quick overview of the event. We then lead some fun warm-up activities that also randomly create small teams.

Sample table-top games: Scramble: Teams are given a packet of cards with one word on each card. They race against the clock to create as many compound words as they can.

Team-Up (5-10 minutes) If the group is not already split into teams, we conduct a fun, light-activity game to randomly sort participants into teams.

Show Me: Like a scavenger hunt, but backwards. The MC calls out an item and each team scrambles to find that item within their team, then runs to show it to the MC or an assistant.

Introduction & Instructions (5 minutes) Atlanta Challenge staff explain the rules for the game, and facilitators distribute answer sheets and other program materials to every team. Each team selects a secretary to write their answers.

Sugar Rush: Teams answer questions about popular candy brands, but rather than earn points, they are immediately showered with candy when they answer correctly. Always a great grand finale to the event.

The Game (1-2 hours) The group works within their tableteams to earn the highest score by answering a series of trivia questions, solving team challenges, and deciphering brainteasers.

Wrap-Up (5 minutes) We announce team scores from bottom to top, recognize the winning team and hand out prizes if available.

Sample on-screen challenges: Trivia Round: Teams are given 5 seconds per question to come up with their answers, and 30 seconds at the end of the 10-question series, giving them a chance to strategize how they will get the best answers.

Service Project Option Each round is played for “fabulous prizes:” items that the team will donate to charity. So instead of getting points, teams receive an actual item after each correct answer, generating an ever larger pile of goodies at their table. At the end of the event, teams place the items into a backpack or gift bag, depending on the type of donation. This can be done as a food drive, back-to-school backpacks, emergency shelter pack, gift bag of toys, etc.

Music Round: Teams try to name the artist and/or song title performed in the 5 second sample. Photo Round: Teams correctly identify the item, person or place in the slideshow, but the pictures can be tricky, and they are not displayed for very long. How Many?: Teams guess the correct amount of items in a picture, earning points based on how close their answers are.

Agenda & Activity Descriptions Welcome & Warm-Ups (25-10 minutes) Atlanta Challenge staff welcome the participants and lead some fun warm-up activities.

Facilitator Challenges: Teams have the opportunity to do these bonus challenges whenever they find an Atlanta Challenge facilitator in the hunt area.

Team Up! (5-10 minutes) Our last warm-up game also randomly creates small teams. Each team then creates a name and slogan which represent their commitment to success and teamwork.

Rendezvous Challenges: These team-against-team challenges take place at a scheduled time and a secret location. Scoring (15 minutes) Teams reconvene at the starting area to finalize their scoring and begin working on their teamwork presentations.

Event intro (5 minutes) Our staff reviews the rules and timeline for the program, and hands out any supplies the teams need.

Wrap-Up (15 minutes) At the end of the program, the teams all come together to share their experiences and the lessons they have learned. We end with a fun closing activity and a great group picture.

The Hunt (1-2 hours) Photo Missions: These are fun pictures that teams take of themselves, and sometimes other teams, doing specific things or in certain locations to help stretch their creativity and their camaraderie. Trivia: Teams answer trivia questions about the local area and/or your organization, giving everyone a chance to see what their team mates know. Brainteasers: Teams work on this collection of various mental challenges for extra points as they travel. Participants apply critical & creative thinking, and plan how to fit the extra projects into existing schedules. Landmarks: Teams receive a page full of pictures that are close-ups of various landmarks in the hunt zone. They receive points for those they find and correctly identify.

Agenda & Activity Descriptions Welcome & Warm-Ups (20-30 minutes) Atlanta Challenge staff welcome the participants and set expectations for the event. We then lead some fun warm-up activities that also randomly create small teams. Each team creates a name and slogan which represent their commitment to success and teamwork. Our staff hand out any supplies the teams need, and review the rules and timeline for the program.

transporting everyone to their goal successfully using synchronized steps and some fancy foot work!

Small Team Intros & Strategy Session (10 minutes) Participants get to know their teammates better, review the event materials, and decide what their strategy will be for getting the most points that they can.

Pathway to Success Your team must discover a new path to success. The team is searching for vital bits of information that will clear their path and help grow the business. Connecting these bits of information is essential to the team’s success. They must avoid all other obstacles. Every team member is an active participant.

Key Punch The game is a simulation of the “manufacturing process.” A task will be presented to the group to touch all of the spots in the “production area” and certain rules or “production processes” will be introduced. The ultimate goal is to develop the fastest possible method for touching all of the spots and maintain the highest level of quality control.

Team Challenges (60-120 minutes) The event area will have several activity stations set up. Most teams will have time to complete 10-15 of them.

Scoring (15 minutes) Teams turn in their score sheets and prepare their final team observations.

Here are some sample challenges: Turn Over a New Leaf In this seemingly simple task, the group must create a plan to get everyone from the side of the tarp they are all standing on to the other side without anyone stepping off. This activity requires problem solving skills, communication and effective team involvement.

Team Presentations (10-15 minutes) Teams come together at the end of the program to share their insights about what it takes to be successful when they are responsible for defining success, and how to apply those lessons for greater team accomplishment.

Moving Forward This initiative is about getting your team from where they are to where they want to be. Communication will be your team’s best tool for
