Mission/Description of Organization: Grace Centers of Hope is a non-profit, Christian organization committed to positively changing the lives of the addicted and homeless through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, personal accountability, life skills education, and workrelated programs. The foundation of this change is the local church which encourages residents to become strong in faith while it lovingly promotes a sense of belonging within a community that can truly be called "home".

About Grace Centers of Hope Grace Centers of Hope believes in “people helping people” and demonstrates how lives can be transformed by the power of community. Grace Centers of Hope reconnects individuals to society and introduces a strong support system through church, community, and a core of dedicated volunteers. The results of our efforts have helped many to regain custody of their children, find gainful employment, obtain their GED, and develop the courage to change their lives and become homeowners. To help us accomplish our mission in the community we rely on the support of individuals, businesses, foundations, and other civic organizations. Our $7.8 million dollar budget is maintained through private support, receiving no government funding.

One-Year Life Skills Residents who commit to our one-year life skills program receive three meals each day, shelter, basic necessities, counseling, and a wide range of classes addressing a variety of social issues. These include financial literacy training, parenting training, computer literacy, and job readiness training.

Two-Year Aftercare Little Grace Village is an affordable housing community where our graduates of the oneyear life skills program are able to continue in their recovery in a safe environment while they work and/or go to college. Those in aftercare are required to pay rent and help with the upkeep of the home in which they reside.

Homelessness to Homeownership This program allows individuals who have completed our one-year life skills program and our two-year aftercare program to own their own home. We give them the opportunity to purchase one of our refurbished homes on a land contract.

Hands of Hope Childcare Center Our state licensed childcare center serves the children whose parents are participating in our programs. We provide them with a safe and stable learning environment while their parents receive the care they need. We provide this service free of charge.

Emergency Shelter Our Emergency Shelter meets the immediate needs of individuals who are homeless. We provide food, shelter, and other basic necessities, as well as assist individuals in finding sustainable housing and employment.

Education and Career Center Our Education and Career Center provides GED classes for all residents who do not have a high school diploma. This program includes individual online preparation, one-on-one tutoring, homework assistance, and pre-tests. Our center also assists with job search and college placement.

Thrift Stores Grace Centers of Hope operates four thrift stores which are critical to the sustainability of our programs. The thrift stores currently generate 48% of our operational budget. Our stores are located in Sterling Heights, Oak Park, Waterford, and Warren.

The Women Helping Women Luncheon and Fashion Show will be returning, for the 19th year, on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Royal Park Hotel in Rochester. This is the premiere event supporting the women’s programs at Grace Centers of Hope. We will not only be raising awareness of women’s issues with addiction and homelessness, but also celebrating the triumphs of women who have overcome addiction and are now emerging from our programs as healthy confident role models for their families. This fashion show has been changing the lives of women for nearly two decades. New for this year’s event is the featuring of top designers from right here in the great state of Michigan. After receiving a makeover by Luigi Bruni Salon, women and children, who are residents of our one-year Life Skills Program, walk the runway alongside professional models. Through this event, our women are able to step outside their previous lives, which were once consumed with addiction and poverty, and gain a sense of how their lives can be enriched and restored. The highlight is always the testimony of one of the women who has graduated from the life skills program. The goal of the 19th Annual Women Helping Women Luncheon and Fashion Show is to raise $200,000 in ticket sales and sponsorships. Meeting this goal will allow Grace Centers of Hope to continue its mission of reaching out to women who are addicted and hurting and provide life-saving services for them as well as their children.
