“Being an East Carolina Alumni Association sponsor has been such an honor for The Sweet Couple. We are both proud alumni of East Carolina University and take pride in being able to give back to our alma mater in such a “sweet” way. Sponsoring the Sweet Zone for the Buccaneer Buffet for the first time in 2015 was absolutely amazing. We were able to meet so many fellow alumni which also lead to new clients. The marketing materials that included our logo and information provided by ECAA gave our business exposure outside of Greenville. It was such an outstanding feeling to see so many happy faces as they enjoyed our desserts. We look forward to participating in future ECAA events.”

Tradition abounds at East Carolina, and the alumni association plays an important role in keeping these traditions alive and well. The East Carolina Alumni Association, in partnership with Student Affairs, has developed the Traditions Map mobile app which encourages students to find the Pirate within themselves by discovering our university’s history, traditions, and campus life. Among those traditions are a ring ceremony, legacy celebration, and senior celebration.
LEGACY CELEBRATION Each year, the Alumni Association invites all ECU students with two or more generations of Pirates to participate in this event that recognizes tradition and loyalty to East Carolina. As part of the event, alumni family members “pin” current students with a special legacy pin that denotes their Pirate heritage.
