The packaging must bear the EPA WaterSense logo and at the manufacturer’s discretion, the EPA logo may be imprinted on or adhered to the product. Installation: Weather-Based Irrigation Controllers are to be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and the applicable code. An instruction manual that lists the settings and specific parts used to meet the EPA Specification and the maximum number of stations for the product shall be in included in product packaging and must be followed.

The Signature® model recognized in this listing must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s published installation instructions and Section 404.1.2(3) of the IgCC or the applicable code(s). Any instruction related to the maintenance of the product must direct the user on how to return the controller to smart mode. The product must not be packaged nor marked to encourage operation of the controller in standard mode. The product, as packaged, must include the same components or attributes that it was tested with to meet the requirements of this EPA specification. For controllers with weather stations, sensors, or rainfall devices, all components tested with the controller must be packaged with the controller. For signal-based controllers, instructions on acquiring the proper weather signal shall be packaged with the controller. The Signature® Controllers recognized in this listing are manufactured by the Signature® Control Systems Inc., in Peoria, Illinois, under a quality control program with an annual surveillance inspection by ICC-ES.
