RIVER CRUISING River cruise itineraries include voyages through such countries as Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, France, Netherlands, Hungary, Czech Republic, Italy, Portugal and more without the usual inconvenience of packing and unpacking. The "Floating Hotels" cruise by beautiful cities, villages, castles and vineyards. On the Rhine, a variety of itineraries depart from Amsterdam, Cologne, Mainz and Basel. On the Danube, voyages depart from Passau and Nuremburg Germany and cruise to the Austrian and Hungarian capitals of Vienna and Budapest. In Italy, we offer round trip cruises out of romantic Venice visiting fascinating cities like Verona, Ferrara, and Parma. On the Rhone, ships sail from Lyon, France to the Burgundy and Beaujolais wine regions and the Mediterranean style cities of Avignon and Arles. Cruising on the Seine River between Paris and Normandy France, shows us towns from the Norman times as well as charming port cities such as Honfleur. and Le Harve. Enjoy world famous port wine tasting in Portugal as you cruise the Douro River and explore the many religious and historical monuments of Portugal. River cruises in comparison to barge cruises are different in that they cruise the rivers of Europe rather than the small canals. The ships are larger and hold from 80 to 200+ passengers and offer cruise lengths from 3 - 21 days. New in River Cruises for 2015: *Croisi Europe is offering the first ever paddle boat river cruise in the Loire Valley on the 88 passenger Loire Princess. *AMA and some of the other river cruise ships also feature bicycles on board for the guest's use. *You can find fitness centers, jacuzzi, massage and even swimming pools on some of the ships. *Several of our cruise lines offer short river cruises from 3 - 6 nights with all new itineraries. *Coming in 2016 - Croisi Europe will offer Elbe River Cruises in Germany - so call soon to ensure available . space. *Coming in 2016 - AMA will offer Bordeaux River Cruises in France. The river cruises do not allow smoking inside the ships. Most of the cruise lines have a designated area on the sun deck that smoking is allowed in. Most of the river cruise lines in our brochure feature open seating for all meals. AMA and Avalon have multiple course options as well as additional entree selections. On their newer ships, AMA and Avalon have several dining venues. Croisi has one entree only but will provide other dishes for special diets. Croisi rates include a beverage package. RIVER CRUISES River cruises differ from barge cruises in that they are larger vessels, cruise the rivers of Europe rather than the canals, and visit larger towns. There are several river cruise lines featured in this brochure.

DAY 1: Nantes Board in Nantes between 6 pm and 7 pm. DAY 2: Nantes – Saint Nazaire Optional guided visit of Nantes (must be pre-booked in advance). Next you will visit Feydeau Island, a former island now joined to the rest of the town, and a superb example of 18th century architecture, before heading for the quays in Nantes. The tour then continues to the Castle of the Dukes of Brittany.The last castle along the banks of the Loire before the river reaches the ocean, this Breton monument, with its remarkable buildings from the 15th and 17th centuries, is a magical and compelling part of Nantes' history and heritage. Return on board for lunch. Optional tour of Saint Nazaire, a town on the sea. We begin with a visit of Escal'Atlantic, which retraces the story of the two great liners (the Normandie and the France) in a quite ingenious way, using real film footage and actual artefacts, mixed with some special effects. Continue on to the Saint Nazaire shipyard, one of the largest shipyards in Europe. (This excursion must be prebooked in advance. Each passenger will be asked to produce a valid passport or identity card in order to gain access to the shipyard).We rejoin the ship in Saint Nazaire for dinner, followed by an evening of music and dancing. Deposit of $400 or 30% per person is due within 7 days of confirmation on river cruises. Full payment is due for airlines. Final payment for river cruise due 70 days before departure. For bookings made with 70 days of departure, full payment is due with booking. CANCELLATIONS - Cancellation requests must be received in our office in writing. Full refund less a $75 administrative fee per person for any cancellation received up to 61 days prior to departure for land tours, in addition to the following penalties: River Cruises Most of our cruises are non-refundable once any monies have been paid. Ama and Scenic cruises offer a partial refund on the deposit and cruise if cancellation occures before 60 days from cruise departure. AIRLINES - Amount varies, if allowed by airline once ticketed. Many airline tickets are fully non-refundable once the tickets have been issued. TRAVEL DOCUMENTS - A valid passport is required for each passenger, with an expiration date of at least 6 months after scheduled departure date for Europe.
