The Distinctive Choice for Unforgettable Meetings French Lick Resort is the ultimate Midwest destination. Nestled in the heart of the Hoosier National Forest with two beautifully restored historic hotels, championship golf, world-class spas, casino and over 163,000-square-feet of event space, French Lick Resort offers a setting and meeting experience that can’t be matched. No matter if you have 10 people or 2,000, we invite you and your group to discover the enchanting history and modern amenities at French Lick Resort.

A Rich History

Since 1845, French Lick Resort has been known for history-making events. The “miracle waters” that bubbled from the naturally-occurring sulfur springs attracted guests from far and wide. French Lick Springs Hotel, while owned by Indianapolis Mayor Tom Taggart, rose to international prominence with luxurious furnishings, marble floors, two championship golf courses and the famous Pluto Water. West Baden Springs Hotel, erected by Lee W. Sinclair, was a haven for celebrities, gamblers and political figures. It was topped with the world’s largest free-span dome at the time and appropriately dubbed the “Eighth Wonder of the World.”

The Save of the Century

By the mid-1990s, French Lick Springs Hotel, although still in operation, was in need of restoration and the abandoned West Baden Springs Hotel was literally crumbling to the ground. As with any great comeback story, it all started with people who refused to give up – the local community and the Indiana Landmarks Foundation. Seeing West Baden Springs Hotel in complete ruin prompted Indiana Landmarks to find a partner with the passion and means to restore this once renowned property. Soon William Cook, a devoted preservationist who led the restoration of many Indiana buildings, joined the cause and committed more than $600 million to not only save West Baden Springs Hotel but also French Lick Springs Hotel. By 2007, both hotels were restored to the glory of the gilded age and officially reopened.

A Winning Combination – Meetings and Golf Few things in the world of golf get the blood pumping like the mention of Pete Dye, Donald Ross and Tom Bendelow in the same sentence. Nowhere else in the world can a golfer play courses created by each of these prolific designers at one location. The rolling hills of southern Indiana provide a beautiful yet challenging place for a casual meeting on the course.

The Pete Dye Course at French Lick

In 2009, legendary course designer and Hall of Fame architect Pete Dye carved a course into the hillside of the second highest point in Indiana. The Pete Dye Course at French Lick is quickly becoming one of the most highly acclaimed courses in the country. The course features 18 holes of narrow fairways, rugged terrain and forty-mile panoramic views of the countryside.

The Donald Ross Course at French Lick

This classic course, designed by iconic architect Donald Ross in 1917, underwent a $5 million restoration in collaboration with the Donald Ross Society. Ross’ trademark flat bottom bunkers with deep gnarly faces and severely undulating rectangular-shaped greens are once again in place. The legendary course has been home to many regional and national tournaments including the 1924 PGA Championship, won by the legendary Walter Hagen.

The Donald Ross Course at French Lick

The Valley Links Course at French Lick

The Valley Links Course is a fully walkable, par 36 park-like course with rolling fairways, Scottish-style fescue grasses and strategically placed bunkers. This course is home to the French Lick Golf Academy that provides a variety of instruction including full swing, short game, video analysis and custom club fitting.
