• ESD protected work area, where the static electricity is safely conducted to ground.
• ESD gloves, ESD footwear and ESD wrist strap, which can be used to conduct static electricity safely to the ground via a high resistance (about 1 MΩ).
Wiha ESD screwdrivers have dissipative handles with surface resistance of 106 – 109 Ω. This ensures “a safe discharge” while working. This prevents damage done to vulnerable components by static discharge. All Wiha ESD safe tools meet the requirements for the international ESD Standard DIN EN 61340-5-1/ 61340-5-2. Note: The Wiha ESD safe hand tools are not insulated, and thus are not allowed to be used for working on devices connected to a power source.
