Epicor EPM The Future for Common Reports

“The more people within a business who have access to the benefits of quality BI, the better equipped organizations will be to respond to, and take advantage of, opportunities and shifts in their business environment.”

Evolution and Tradition • Reports – Uses report software to create reports from one system at the time. – Reports are adjusted in Report configuration tool. – If reports need to be augmented they are imported into Excel where adjustments are made.

• Business Intelligence – Data replicated from the core systems (often more than one) and re-organized to be easy to understand and fast to retreive – Nice and management friendly software is used to retreive the data creating a platform for analysis and view.

• Budgets, Plans and Forecasts – Are mostly made in Excel, then later punched back into the ERP system to be used for Reports. – Some companies are using separate systems for the purpose of Planning. Most often these systems are not used for Reports.

Canvas Usage

Finding a Canvas There are several ways to find a canvas. The basic places you find your canvas are: • in the list in your canvas homepage • in your corporate intranet or MS Share point portal • as an answer on a search in your corporate search engine • in your mobile phone canvas page

Using Filters With filters you “slice” the information to highlight the values and ranges that are interesting for you to view.

The dialogue box gives you several ways to select information either through multiple or single select.

Creating and Reading Annotations

• A global annotation is a general comment you make on a graph or table in the canvas. • A local annotation is a comment you make on a specific filter setting on graph or table in the canvas.

Exporting Performance Canvas supports this in basically four ways: • Downloading the data to a Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet • Exporting to a “live” pivot table in Microsoft Excel • Exporting to a PDF file • Exporting to a Image file
