KNOW YOUR PLASTICS A GRAVOPLY ULTRA (p. 8) Our most versatile product yet. This micro-cap product allows fine detailed engraving similar to a foil cap product (like Gravoply 2), but the non-foil solid plastic cap offers more overall durabilitya trait traditionally limited to the standard .010” laminated caps (like Gravoply 1). In fact, this cap is so durable it can be used indoors or outdoors. Even better, this fully UV stable 2-Ply product H can be engraved with a rotary engraver or a laser engraver. And now this product is available in a variety of overall thicknesses (.020”, 1/16”, 3/32”) and offers many matte and satin surface finishes to choose from. Reduce your overall inventory value by stocking just one product line for all your 2-Ply needs. I B GRAVOLASE METALLICS (p. 9) Similar in appearance to the Metallex product line, Gravolase Metallics uses many of the same foil cap layers. But Gravolase Metallics uses a core of laserable solid DR plastic, instead of ABS J plastic. DR is a special formulation of a modified acrylic known best for it’s laserability. Available in either a flexible .020” or a sturdy 1/16” overall thickness.

GRAVOGLAS 1 (p. 20) This acrylic 2-Ply is designed exclusively for sub-surface engraving, and is suitable for outdoor applications. Different from Gravoglas 2-Plex, Gravoglas 1 has a thin micro-cap on a more rigid clear solid acrylic core. The thin cap offers fine detailed engraving – and it is laserable, too!
STICK-A-LASE (p. 31) Available in black/white or silver/black, this .004” thick, adhesivebacked, laserable plastic is perfect for bar-codes, cylindrical labeling, ID plates or trophy plates. Beveling Beveling is the cutting of an attractive angular edge in order to expose a border of the core material. Gravoply, Gravoply II, 2-Plex and Metallex Strips and Plates are beveled at NO CHARGE.

For simple mounting of finished items, we can apply adhesive backing to nameplates, strips and sheets. Adhesive backing is applied before cutting material.
Lead-Time All fabrication orders are custom orders, therefore please allow a minimum of 3 business days for order processing. Fabrication times are only an estimate and may vary according to production load. Orders can be rushed for an additional fee.
Adhesive backing may also be used to bond two similar materials creating thicknesses beyond those of stock materials. Send us your specifications.
Return Policy
Custom Length Plate Holders
All fabrication orders are non-returnable due to their custom nature. Please ensure that you provide accurate information when placing your fabrication order.
Most aluminum plate holders from this catalog can be cut to custom length. When cutting plate holders into custom length, they will have natural aluminum nonfinished edges. Inquire about pre-cut anodized plate holders in custom lengths.

The available color and finish options allow you thousands of custom combinations. "On-Demand" products require only 3 weeks for delivery with a nominal up charge to our regular price. "On-Demand" products may be shipped in half or quarter sheets but must be ordered in full sheet equivalents. Choose Gravoply On-Demand (p.13) for all your interior applications, or Gravoglas 2-Plex On-Demand (p.24) for all your exterior applications. Custom Gravoply Ultra: Get the Ultra experience just the way you want it. We can produce Gravoply Ultra with almost any custom color cap over a standard core. For small runs as few as 25 sheets to large runs of 500 sheets and up. The unit cost for large runs is similar to our standard "in-stock” price. For small runs there will be a small up charge.
Still can’t find the color combination you want? Try our CUSTOM COATING service. You can have your exact color choice in as little as 6 weeks. Custom Coating offers the ability to choose any Surface color over a standard core color. Custom Coatings offer the flexibility to get a few sheets to match an existing installation or a run for your large custom job. Through our Custom Coating process we can provide custom colors for Gravo-Tac 1/32" profiles, Reverse Engrave Matte finish Gravoglas 2-Plex, Surface Engrave on any Gravo-Tac and Gravo-Tac Exterior core. We can also Custom Coat any of our modular frames. This process may involve a one-time color match/set-up fee regardless of the material, plus an additional "per unit" cost. The "per unit" cost of Custom Coated sheet stock and modular frames will depend on the number of units ordered. Please call for a quote. FRAME DESIGN
INSERT SIZES
100 Series Features a thin 1/16” edge. The sign insert fits recessed into the frame using a snap lock mechanism similar to our traditional modular frame system. 200 Series Features a 1/4” radius edge that matches our traditional plastic injection molded modular frame system. This should allow an easy upgrade transition for your current injection-molded modular frame customers. The sign insert also fits into the frame using a snap lock mechanism similar to our traditional modular frame system.
The frame sizing is equivalent to our existing modular frame system, so the insert size should always be 5/64” less than the size of the frame leg purchased. For example, a 6” x 8” frame would need a 5-59/64” x 7-59/64” insert. This is because an insert should always have .005” - .010” clearance for expansion and contraction of materials.
MOUNTING Frame back is designed for tape concealment, or mounting holes can be added to accommodate standard hardware for various types of installations.
COLORS Available in black, gold, or satin anodized aluminum (silver).
SUPPORTS Supports are cut to fit the frame of the size mentioned. Each support consists of a straight aluminum bar that will accept the snap locks. The support will allow you to secure multiple insert pieces into one aluminum frame. We recommend you attach supports to the frame with double-sided film tape (#36232).

All directions and signs feature molded plastic multi-clips inserted into their tracks. Backplates and trimplates then snap-fit onto the multi-clip ensuring accurate spacing, design flexibility and tamper-resistance. Metal for Rotary Engraving The new United States Air Force dress uniform badge, with overall dimensions of 3/4” x 3” this badge is constructed of a .025” silver nickel-plated brass shell that wraps around an attaching plastic insert, as specified by the US Air Force. The attaching hardware on the plastic insert is prong and clutch type. Each unit is sold with the adhesive-backed plastic back unattached to the brass shell to simplify the engraving process. Clutch hardware is included. For this specific badge, the USAF requirements dictate the engraving be done with a .030” or .040” tip cutter.
