Marathon offers the broadest selection of Immersion Heaters in the industry. Industrial immersion heaters are designed for direct contact heating of water, oils, viscous materials, solvents, process solutions and gases for many industrial heat applications. Since all heat is generated within the liquid or process, virtually 100% energy efficiency is achieved. immersion heaters are designed for installation into a pipe body, tank or pressure vessel using standard pipe size.

1) FLANGED IMMERSION HEATERS Flanged Immersion Heaters, both round flange and square flange models are a great choice for application requiring Higher wattages . Flanged immersion heaters are designed for installation into a pipe body, tank or pressure vessel using standard pipe size. These heaters are available in wide selection of rating, sizes and sheath materials suitable for the heating requirements of water, air and others gases. Flanged immersion heaters are very efficient since all energy that is generated is dissipated directly into the medium which is being heated.

2) SCREW PLUG IMMERSION HEATERS Screw plug immersion heaters consist of tubular elements in a threaded hex plug. Some models are provided with a thermowell for the temperature control sensor and variety of electrical enclosures for electrical connections. They screw directly through threaded opening in tank walls to heat liquids, viscous fluids, forced air, and gases by direct contact.

3) BOBBIN IMMERSION HEATERS Marathon make Ceramic Bobbin Heaters are fabricated from high temperature refractory insulators in various diameters and lengths for any voltage or wattage within manufacturing limits. These Bobbin Heaters consist of elements, which are exposed partially in air for better transmission of heat. Also, when it is inserted into a thermowell, it offers a large heated area to the liquid or semi-solid to be heated.

4) CUSTOMIZED IMMERSION HEATERS Marathon also provides CI for Tank Heating system are uniquely designed to heat large storage tanks located above or below ground and containing highly viscous fluids or heat sensitive materials. We offeres uniquely designed electric heating systems for large storage tanks. The systems can be installed in above or below ground tanks made of steel, concrete, or any other material.

In-Line Heaters

Marathon In-Line heaters are packaged units consisting of duct heater mounted in a thermally insulated heating chamber for efficient heating of a flowing medium by in-line or side-arm operation. Thermocouple sensors can be provided to connect to most of the controllers various from selections terminals enclose wise, sheath & vessel material, flanged connections & controls. Application include: Water Heating, Freeze Protection, heat Transfer Oil heating, Fuel Oil Heating, Steam, air available Gas heating and others variable applications.

1) FUAL OIL CIRCULATION HEATERS Light and Medium weight Oil Heaters are ideal for temperature maintenance and for improving flow characteristics of oils. Fuel and gas heaters are also used for heat transfer Oils. Heavy or Fuel oil Heaters will reduce the viscosity, thereby improving flow and process efficiency.

2) STEAM AIR GAS CIRCULATION HEATERS Marathon circulation heaters provide a cost effective means for heating air and common industrial gases such as Argon, helium and Nitrogen as well as gaseous mixtures for a wide variety of industrial processes. INCOLOY elements and a Stainless steel vessel enhance safe operation to nearly 1400°F outlet gas temperature in air, gas or steam superheating applications.

3) DUCT HEATERS Process air heaters/Duct heaters are employed in heating air or other gases in ducts, autoclaves, or ovens for many industrial heat applications. sheathed tubular, finned tubular, and finned strip elements consistently outperform gas, oil, and open coil electric unit in both heating efficiency and safety. Durable INCOLOY sheath elements provide for outlet temperatures up to 1200°F/650°C.

4) ESP HOPPER HEATERS Hopper heaters for efficient removal of ash on electrostatic precipitator normally called ESP Hopper Heaters. Due to Flue gas condensation ,Fly ash hoppers experience 'pluggage' problems. Marathon supplies electric surface heating system for fly ash hoppers on electrostatic precipitator in all type of industries who face the problem of blockage in Hoppers. The blockage is so severe that often pneumatic drilling equipment and explosives are required to free the system. This problem, known as Flash Freezing, is extremely inconvenient and very costly. Due to moisture content and low temperature inside hoppers, choking & accumulation of fly ash occurs to maintain temperature inside hoppers for effective flow of fly ash to ash disposal system. to remove these kind of problems, we have to use ESP hoppers heaters, so that they heat up the hopper and hopper get clean which got blocked by dust & ash.

Marathon manufactures and supplies high temperature Bundle Rod Heaters and Metallic Heating Elements for OEM’s as well as end-users generally used for different furnaces applications including Annealing furnaces, galvanizing furnaces etc.

1) BUNDLE ROD HEATERS Bundle Rod heaters are the heart of heating process which involves high temperature applications such as forging and furnace for various heat treatments. Marathon manufactures and supplies heating elements for both O.E.M.'s and end users with custom designed solutions. These heaters are designed & manufactured in low voltages for faster heating in order to achieve temperatures quickly. Genuine sourced material is used for long lasting services which tend to reduce breakdown time and costs. We have a very successful track record of supplying these heaters within a short span of time.

2) METALLIC HEATING ELEMENTS Mettalic heating Elements are the ones which are spirally or helically wound & then evenly stretched to achieve desired heating length. They can be supplied with studs & ceramic tubes of required specification. Marathon has state of the art in-house manufacturing capabilities for all metallic element configurations. With a large inventory of materials and sizes Marathon is renowned for its fast response to delivery requirements. Various grades of material are available depending on the application

3) TUBULAR HEATERS Tubular elements are the most versatile of all metal sheathed heaters. They can be supplied in many lengths, diameters, sheath materials and electrical ratings. Inherent mechanical flexibility permits forming and bending into many shapes and sizes providing unique adaptability for the process engineer or product designer. Various sheath material selections are available to provide suitable operation from liquid immersion service through high temperature (871°C) radiant heating service.

4) SILICON CARBIDE HEATING ELEMENTS Marathon Silicon carbide heating elements are time trusted heating elements and are characterized by high use temperature, superior oxidation resistance, low corrosion, long service life, low creep, and easy installation features i.e. full accessories

Component Heaters

1) CARTRIDGE HEATERS Marathon cartridge heater exceeds the performance and durability compared to other cartridge heaters through refinements in swaging process, specially designed cores, careful selection of magnesium oxide fill, nickel chromium resistance wire, stainless steel tubing, and carefully controlled production processes, HotRods routinely outperform other cartridge heaters in difficult application and are available in a wide variety of diameters and configurations.

2) COIL HEATERS Coil heaters are an advance concept of thermal engineering, is also known as high performance tubular heaters or cable heaters. The basic construction of these heaters consist of compacted MgO, high temperature resistance wire and Chrome Nickel Steel tube. These heaters can be constructed with or without built in thermocouples.

3) CERAMIC BAND HEATERS Ceramic band heaters are medium-to-high temperature heaters that have 648°C as a maximum working temperature. These durable heaters can have optional in-built ceramic fiber jackets that make them energy efficient. Ceramic band heaters are available with different terminal styles, are fully flexible, and can accommodate holes and cut-outs.

4) MICA BAND HEATERS Mica Insulated band heaters are sheathed in rust-resistance steel or in stainless steel sheath as it provides physical strength and good thermal conductivity. Specially selected mica grade and thickness is used to insulate the windings, providing excellent thermal conductivity and dielectric strength.

5) SILICONE RUBBER HEATERS Marathon Heater flexible heaters provide outstanding performance in applications up to 200°C under a variety of operating conditions. Properly applied silicone rubber heater life routinely exceeds 10 years. Silicone rubber has a high dielectric strength and is flame retardant and non-toxic. Design versatility permits special heat profiles allowing zones of higher or lower heat concentration as needed. Their flexible construction makes them very easy to install on a variety of surfaces. Silicone Rubber Heaters can be mounted to flat or curved surfaces. They are not affected by vibration, flexing or repeated mechanical shock.

6) AIR HEATERS Marathon air heaters feature an open coil of high temperature resistance wire electrically isolated in a stainless steel sheath. Because the air being heated passes directly over the resistance wire, maximum heat transfer efficiency is achieved. Marathon brand air heaters are used for heat staking, plastic welding, laminating, drying, heat sealing, and any other operation where air needs to be heated up 500°C.

7) MINERAL INSULATED HEATING CABLES Marathon Mineral Insulated Heating Cables are the most rugged heating cable in Marathon's product line. Constructed of a solid series resistor element embedded in highly compacted mineral insulation, MI cables are built to handle high temperature, high wattage applications. The series resistor and mineral insulation are encased in a metallic jacket of INCONEL 600/800, SS304/316/321 or Copper for different high temperature or corrosive applications.

A) SPECIAL HEATING CABLE DESIGN CONFIGURATIONS: Marathon offers customized designs in MI Heater Configurations to fulfill customer requirements. Marathon ECR (Extended Cold Region) Heaters are examples of such special type of MI Heaters, which are manufactured with extended cold ends from the Heating Length of the heater which suits to Critical Nuclear applications.

8) BOLT HEATERS Marathon Bolt Heaters are used to preheat large, hollow holding bolts or studs where a high concentration of heat is critical for bolt expansion in a short period of time. As an insertion type unit, the bolt heater is widely used in the manufacture and servicing of heavy duty steam or other pressure equipment. It is also used to heat die blocks and large platens and to expand adjusting bolts on mechanical or hydraulic presses.

A) CYLINDRICAL BOLT HEATERS Cylindrical Bolt Heaters are constructed with our most efficient and highest quality Hi-Density (swaged) Cartridge Heaters; with close tolerance fits, watt densities of 100 watts per square inch are obtainable. The higher wattage on Hi-Density Bolt Heaters means quicker heat- up time and minimum heat loss to the area surrounding the bolt.

B) FLEXIBLE BOLT HEATERS Flexible Bolt Heaters are designed to allow easy access to stud bolts with overhead clearance restrictions. Flexible Bolt Heaters incorporate a time proven design of 50 watts of heat per square inch. The flexible sheath allows the heater to be flexed or bent to almost any required configuration.

1) CUSTOMIZED HEATING ELEMENT In addition to many different standard heaters Marathon also offers unlimited variations in the form of customized heater designs. If your requirements call for unique physical attributes, special wattage or voltage ratings, Marathon can create a heater to fit your unique application. 2) INTEGRATED CONTROL PANEL SYSTEM Marathon offers control panel that integrates temperature controllers, customer input and power control system into a complete package. This precise power control allows process temperature to be controlled to ±1°C. Marathon offers customized panel sizes for unique applications.

A) SSR POWER CONTROLLING SYSTEM Solid State Relays well-suited to provide the rapid switching cycles required by PID temperature control, SSRs can switch from 10 to 75 amps up to 480VAC. Switching can be either zero cross from AC or DC input voltages, or random from DC input voltage.

B) SCR (THYRISTOR) POWER CONTROLLING SYSTEM Silicon Controlled Rectifier capable of zero cross or phase angle operation, or burst firing to act as a solid state contactor, SCRs offer power switching advantages not possible with SSRs. Available in ratings from 10 to 1000 amps, up to 575VAC, in 1-phase, 3-phase/2leg and 3-phase/3-leg versions. Zero cross variable time base extends heater life and permits more accurate control. Phase angle firing permits "soft starting" loads that change resistance over time and temperature.

3) TEMPERATURE SENSORS Marathon Heater is pleased to present our line of premium temperature sensors. We offer standard and customized thermocouples, mineral insulated thermocouples, and RTDs. We use only the highest grade materials and offer a variety of sheath materials for any environment or temperature range. All sensors are subject to rigid quality control procedures and a thorough inspection process. Expert engineering assistance is readily available for any order size, large or small.
