About Us Emory University Pediatrics Residency Program offers a multitude of opportunities for trainees : 

We are a large program with 61 residents: 55% go into general pediatrics and 45% continue on to fellowships (in top programs nationally).

We train within the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) system, a unique hospital network with 3 freestanding children’s hospitals—Egleston, Scottish Rite, and Hughes Spalding—as well as at Grady Memorial Hospital. 

CHOA is the largest children’s hospital network in the country. Collectively, the member hospitals total over 777,800 patient visits a year.

Facilities range from 255 inpatient beds at Egleston to 24 at Hughes Spalding (the smallest freestanding children’s hospital in the country).

Close relationships with other nearby universities, the CDC, and more.

Our own blog maintained by a clinical informaticist which discusses topics from our Morning Report and other conferences. 

“The variety of locations we get to practice in is a unique program asset. Egleston, Hughes Spalding, Grady Healthcare, and Scottish Rite all offer different approaches to medicine and different populations of patients leading a very rich exposure during training.” 2

General Pediatrics Hospital Medicine - is practiced at a large tertiary center as well as a community hospital, all within a 3 mile radius, giving exposure to everything within the scope of pediatrics.

Community Medicine months emphasizing social determinants of health and health disparities, food insecurity and healthy lifestyles, school based health, and advocacy.

Continuity Clinic opportunities on site at Hughes 1st and 2nd years and in the community your 3rd year in both general pediatrics and subspecialties.

“Graduating from the Emory Pediatrics Residency
