Electric multiple units

Our mission is to fulfil the current and future expectations of domestic and foreign owners of rolling stock through the construction, modernisation and repair of rolling stock and by ensuring good quality and user satisfaction.

Electric multiple units – EMU PESA Bydgoszcz SA is the first Polish manufacturer that designed and delivered the first modern multi-unit, single-space EMU in 2004. The vehicle was equipped with a modern asynchronous drive and control, pneumatic springing of bogies as well as an interesting and comfortable interior. PESA, developing its own R&D department and using its experience as well as getting to know the needs of the clients, has produced several series of EMU vehicles which were very well received by the users and travellers. When designing the next generation EMU, the company mainly focused on the safety of travellers and personnel. PESA is one of the first companies to introduce into mass production the rolling stock structures fulfilling the highest European safety and strength standards (EN 12663 and EN 152227). This is our own patented solution. Apart from safety, the comfort of passengers and personnel is also the key aspect. PESA EMU are characterised by an interesting design, modern, single-space, air-conditioned interiors, equipped with comfortable seats, a dynamic passenger information system transmitted on electronic display screens and an automatic audio system. The vehicles are equipped with an intercom ensuring the communication of the passengers with the driver as well as an ad broadcast system and a passenger counter. They include internal and external monitoring with a preview and recording in the driver’s cabin, modern online diagnostic systems allowing real-time tracking of the operation of the most important vehicle components, limiting to a minimum the possibility of a

failure and decreases the time of reaction of the maintenance service. PESA designed electric vehicles according to the mandatory TSI requirements. The use of modular systems gives each client the ability to design their own interior. The length of the vehicle (number of cars) as well as its technical parameters can be modified according to the needs. PESA builds environmentally-friendly vehicles, with a low energy demand, low maintenance costs and high recycling factor used for the construction of materials. PESA cooperates with the best European suppliers of components and at the same time tries to manufacture most of the components for their products. PESA’s next generation EMU are vehicles from the Elf, PesaDART and Acatus Plus families. The Elf platform is designed for servicing of regional and agglomeration connections with a speed of up to 160 km/h. The PesaDART family is a comfortable EMU designed for servicing of long-distance lines, with a speed of up to 250 km/h. Both vehicle platforms are designed in a manner allowing the construction of multi-voltage drive systems for the servicing of lines supplied with the following voltages: 1.5kV DC, 3kV DC, 15kV AC and 25kV AC as well as other non-standard voltages according to the specific requirements of clients.
