Hotel*** night in San Salvador Day 2 CITY TOUR-gate of the devil-volcano (B,L) Will visit main residential city, its most important avenues, the crafts market and the historic downtown of San Salvador where we meet the Metropolitan Cathedral, the National Palace, the Mural of the martyrs and the Church of El Rosario. Then, we will go to the impressive Puertadel Diablo (rock formation to 1130 msm where you can see the volcanoes, volcanic Lake of Ilopango, Balsam mountain range and the Pacific Ocean). In addition, looks at la crater of the San Salvador volcano which last erupted in the year of 1917, where we also contemplate the nature and spectacular views. Day 3 MAYAn route and TAZUMAL (B) Visit Joya de Cerén, Mayan village, declared by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage site in 1993 and considered the "Pompea de América", the pyramids of the ceremonial center of San Andrés and the Museum. Ending with a visit to Tazumal Archaeological Park where we visit the most impressive Mayan pyramidin El Salvador. It includes panoramic views of beautiful Lake Coatepeque of volcanic origin and visit to the historic centre of Santa Ana, where we can appreciate the beauty of architecture of the Cathedral and itstheatre. In addition, we can place us in the natural beauty of the area taking a stroll in boat in Lake Suchitlán to appreciate the lush, mountainous landscape and observe an incredible quantity of birds nest on the ”Island of birds”. Day 6 route of peace PERQUIN-MORAZAN (B) Visit the Department of Morazan, one of the most beautiful regions of the country, but during our historical conflict was punished by fierce battles between the army and the guerrillas. Currently Morazán enjoys peace, which revives the charm of its mountains, rivers of crystal clear water and the warmth typical of the region. We will make a historic expedition in the Museum of the revolution (Periquín) and an ecological walk to enter in contact with nature. Other points of interest: Sapo River and the mural at el Mozote victims. HONDURAS AND GUATEMALA OPERATED BY GUATEMALAN ADVENTURES DAY 8 COPÁN -HONDURAS Transfer to the ruins of Copan in Honduras is one of the major archaeological sites of the Mayan world and is characterized by incredible pyramids and stelae that tell the story of their rulers and is known for the fine art of the structures that make up the Acropolis Maya. Day 9 Copán – Quiriguá - Petén (B): Transfer from Copán at 7.00 am to visit to the archaeological site of Quiriguá known for the tallest stelae in the Mayan World. The name “Quiriguá” is modern and taken from the name of a nearby town. This site is best known for the excellent stelae and zoomorphs found here. It is very important to show Stela “C” which talks about the start of the fifth Maya cycle that began some 3,000 years before Christ until December 21st 2012. Day 10 Tikal - Guatemala City (B, L): Transfer to one of the most important archaeological sites of the Mayan World, Tikal, its name means “Place of Voices”, built during the Maya Classic Period. There are places on this earth that are so stunning that it is impossible to capture them in words or photographs. Tikal is such a place and is considered the second largest city in the Maya world. Tikal has the distinction of being the first site in Guatemala declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Upon arrival at Tikal archaeological site, our guide will show you the layout of the complex of Temples and Acropolis. Visit to the Complex Q and R, then to the Central Acropolis, Temples I “El Gran Jaguar and the Temple II” Los Mascarones “, regarded as the first and one of the most important monuments in the complex. Visit to the Lost World. Transfer to the airport to take flight to Guatemala City. Overnight accommodations in Antigua Guatemala.
