Demoaphic Strengths for Stanton ES are as follows: We feel that one of our strengths in moving students toward academic achievement is in our experienced teaching staff. The majority of our teachers have 6 or more years of experience, with 7 teachers having over 20 years experience. We also have several new teachers that support the new technological and 21st century teaching skills. The student-teacher ratio is approximately 19:1 which we feel continues to allow for direct instruction and attention for each individual student in the classroom. Student Achievement Student Achievement Summary

Stanton Elementary School will continue to build upon last year's progress using EPISD Active Learning expectations. The state Accountability Summary reported that Stanton did not meet expectations in Index 1, 2, and 3. Sub-groups will continue to be monitored through co-teaching between bilingual and mono-lingual teachers, daily routines, SIOP strategies, ELPS implementation STAR 360 results to monitor comprehension and fluency. The teachers will be trained to document progress monitoring of interventions using RTI procedures. The instructional team will create folders for ELL's who performed below standard on STAAR. The folders will include report cards, Common Assessments and Benchmark results that will be used to progress monitor and revise interventions as needed at the end of the 9 week reporting periods. The Campus Leadership Team, TLI instructional team, and the LPAC committee will be responsible for ELL progress monitoring. The campus qualified for the Texas Learning Initiative grant that will be instrumental in planning, staff development, mentoring and implementation of the Reading programs in all grade levels. Active Learning Leaders and a Campus Science Coach have been obtained to assist in academic/instructional assistance to all teachers and students. Teachers will continue to identify students with attendance problems and refer them to the Attendance Committee. Stanton will continue to implement the PBIS (Positive Behaviorial Intervention Strategies) to combat and support the district Bullying plan and inform students and parents through classroom visits and newsletters. The first two weeks of school, the entire campus and administration will meet with students from all grade levels to discuss the school-wide PBIS rules and plan. This year Common Assessments will be used to gauge student progress, improve instruction and re-teach strategies as needed. We will utilize the StemScope Science program with an increase in review of the target objectives and Science Lab instruction provided by the teachers and Campus Science Coach. Teachers have identified all TIER II and TIER III students by September to begin small group intervention during school and after school. Instructional Paraprofessionals and Tutor teams will assist teachers with workstations and monitoring reading fluency in Kinder through 5th grades. Teachers will participate in weekly PLC to review curriculum, common assessments, portfolios and notebooks. The first 90 minute PLC will be used to identify TIER II and TIER III students using last year's testing data. Our 90 minute PLC's will continue once per month with a full day staff development follow-ups. We will hire a retired master teacher to assist teachers in math and reading. Another retired master teacher will be hired to assist DRD identified students in reading. The response to intervention will analyze data with the principal and review teacher recommendations. The SST team will schedule meetings with parents and all who are working with the students to discuss recommendations and support programs. At present Stanton does not have a PTA board and will continue to ask parents and community for applications to be on the Stanton PTA. When a PTA board is designed, the PTA Board will continue to serve the school to support the school in the areas of need such as school field trips, school-wide reading initiative and the special recognition of teachers and students. Extra-curricular programs will include folklorico, Student Council, Dance club, technology club, and science club. The first of week school the campus administrators met with all grade levels to discuss school-wide expectations for conduct and academic achievement. All grade levels will continue to meet weekly in Professional Learning Communities to share student work, lesson plans, Common Assessments, Benchmarks and other ideas for increasing student achievement. Stanton is a well-organized and structured elementary campus that portrays a positive academic image to the community. Staff at Stanton have high expectations of both the students and themselves and strive to utilize time spent in school to serve the academic needs of the students. After analyzing the master schedule, it was decided that morning announcements are kept to a minimum started at 8:05am and completed for instruction to begin by 8:15am. Technology Technology Summary

Stanton Elementary School will continue to improve in the area of technology. Teachers will continue to improve their skills in understanding and using technology in the classroom. They enhance student success by allowing student access to technology in classrooms and computer labs. In an economically disadvantaged area, students are given opportunities to access technology that they may not have at home. Staff and faculty are increasing their technology skills and are becoming more aware of it's impact on student achievement.
