If you want to make digital collaboration into a success - don’t forget to include the ordinary working people ! “On a typical construction project, a lot of information is produced. The trouble is that information is often unstructured, poorly co-ordinated and difficult to find”. "BIM is a process and a way of working, not a physical object or entity" A BIM software should aim to be a supplement - assisting someone to do their job more efficient. … so don’t forget …the people must be trained!

… The industry must support open standards so MANY competitive software producers can develop great software for different needs - so that the customer can choose and click different software together (plug and play). so the result will be: “When you have started to use a smooth BIM software you might feel that you are addicted - and you would’t go back to the way you work before”

Collaborate and communicate operational status directly from the eld. Document all work with direct links to the position in the BIM. “We have registered more than 500 topics in Rendra and we have saved quite a lot of time. Before we started to use Rendra we spent almost 10-15 minutes per topic but after we started using Rendra, we only spend 1 -2 minutes per topic. We also add comments in real time which has made reporting and documentation much more efficient”.

Digital collaboration, field management and documentation

Set up the project in Rendra as you organize your construction project. Set up templates for working orders and processes so the people on the site can focus on executing their job and improve their efficiency. Link documents, drawings, the object and pictures to the topic. Real-time collaboration. Start to document while on site (by writing or using your voice), save as draft and finish when you are back in the barrack. Solid traceable documentation (done - approved - closed)
Changing working habits takes more time that we tend to believe…
…so don’t forget …the people must be trained!
