Ê Enables research development professionals to network with
experienced NORDP colleagues who have volunteered to share their expertise, guidance, and support
Ê Suggested one year commitment Ê Pairs matched based on goals, institution type, and specified
areas of interest 2012-‐13 ACCOMPLISHMENTS Ê February 2013 – 26 pairs matched
Online Professional Development Ê Plans webinars or other online events that enable NORDP
members to share expertise or present outside speakers on topics of interest to NORDP members.
2012-‐13 ACCOMPLISHMENTS Ê 2/7/13 “Strategies for Supporting Junior Faculty” webinar Ê Available online Ê 100% of those polled agreed this webinar was relevant to their work and that the speakers were knowledgeable about the subject matter Ê 86% agreed they’d register for another EPPD webinar
Special Programs

Ê Participates on the NORDP Annual Conference Program Committee to
help select speakers and breakout sessions, sharing information about lessons learned in previous years.
Ê Plans in-‐person seminars and workshops, coordinating with regional
NORDP chapters and the NORDP Annual Conference Committee
Ê Including pre-‐ or post-‐conference programs or training modules that may
be consolidated in a Research Development Professional Certificate Program in future years.
2012-‐13 ACCOMPLISHMENTS Ê Played an active role on 2013 Conference and Program Committees. Ê Certification skills strategy session planned for July at NE Regional
meeting.

Ê Hold quarterly Committee conference calls – open to any NORDP Member Ê Hold Working Group conference calls at least once in between quarterly

Ê Offer a new round of Mentor-‐Mentee matching each year Ê Host one online PD event each quarter Ê Work with NORDP regional chapters to develop workshops with curricula to be
tested for further dissemination through a future NORDP certification program
Ê Continue to define/refine skills sets and job responsibilities for research
development professionals
Ê Work with Enhancing Research Collaboration Working Group to build online
resources for professional development
