Educational Landscape in Kansas • Local districts select SIS for maintaining data, and provide data to state based on collection and reporting calendar • KSDE maintains multiple data collection/reporting systems dealing with specific programs (migrant, sped, CTE, teacher licensure, educator assignments, school finance, etc.) • Systems/data integrated via MDM and enterprise design • Most systems are internally developed and maintained using Microsoft technologies •

Purpose & Audience • Purpose - To provide information about a class of high school seniors including the number who matriculated to a postsecondary institution while noting how well they performed compared to their peers from the district and the state as a whole. • Audience - Principals and Superintendents –Created as a tool to inform and aid policy & decision makers

Platform • System For Education Enterprise in Kansas (SEEK) • SEEK is a BI solution using Sharepoint in Reporting Services Integrated mode, displaying a series of interactive reports with the ability to disaggregate by year, subgroup, and content type, additionally allowing drilldown to student level data. • All charts and underlying data exportable in .pdf, .xls, and .doc formats •

Kansas High School Feedback Reports The High School Feedback Report provides information about each high school and its graduates who: 1. Graduated from a Kansas High School (2007 – Present) 2. Entered a Public or Private university, in and out of the state of Kansas. (Data availability varies on metric selection) 3. Completed the ACT prior to Post – Secondary Enrollment. 2.

Kansas High School Feedback Reports The High School Feedback Report contains the following three sections. 1. College Attendance and Enrollment Patterns at All University types. 2. College Performance Patterns at In-State Public Universities and Colleges. 3. Additional Measures included as part of the America Competes Act for In-State Public Universities and Colleges. •

Kansas High School Feedback Reports What’s included? • College-going patterns of graduating high school seniors help document student transition. • Detailed student performance information, extracted from university student records, document high school graduate experience in through their collegiate career • State, District, and Building level information for all student performance measures are included for comparison. • Student level drilldown capabilities planned pending FERPA regulation changes.

SFSF Phase II Metrics - Defined • C (11) – Provide, for the State, for each LEA in the State, for each high school in the State and, at each of these levels, by student subgroup (consistent with section 1111(b)(2)(C)(v)(II) of the ESEA), of the students who graduate from high school consistent with 34 CFR 200.19(b)(1)(i), the number and percentage (including numerator and denominator) who enroll in an institution of higher education (IHE) (as defined in section 101(a) of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended (HEA)) within 16 months of receiving a regular high school diploma.
