With the many educational and workforce training opportunities available, Nampa is able to provide a comprehensive network to help ensure that its residents are educated and ready to enter the workforce of today and the future. Focusing on “Relevant and Meaningful Education,” the vision of the Nampa School District is to “provide the foundation so that all students will develop a personal vision opening their own doors of opportunity for meaningful and productive lives.” The goal of all of our schools within Nampa is to prepare all students to be successful as workers, citizens and lifelong learners. In Nampa, education starts at birth, with early childhood programs. These programs help prepare all of the young citizens of Nampa to be ready to learn when entering the K-12 system. Among the many academic choices provided to students are professional technical education, advanced academic programs, charter schools, duallanguage magnet schools and alternative schools. If your interest leans more toward a private school setting, then many options are available to you in Nampa as well. Parents have the choice of two amazing school districts, Nampa and Vallivue, in addition to several charter and private schools in our area.

The Nampa community provides a rich selection of choice in K-12 education including charter schools, private schools, and virtual schools. Parents have the choice of two school districts, Nampa and Vallivue. Nampa School District serves the majority of Nampa and has a very comprehensive program for their children. Vallivue school district provides 4 additional elementary schools inside the Nampa city limits.

Post-secondary options are extensive in the area, from two-year programs to several colleges and universities offering higher learning in Nampa and the Boise-Nampa Metropolitan Area. Additionally, many private institutions are available with specialized areas of educational focus for the traditional and non-traditional student.

Two-Year Programs COLLEGE OF WESTERN IDAHO

CWI started its presence within the Boise Valley by opening its campus in 2009 in Nampa, Idaho. Since then, CWI has become one of the fastest growing community college in the United States. Working with many companies, CWI has custom training programs to enhance the workforce skills available in the Boise Valley.

STEVENS HENGAR COLLEGE

Stevens Henegar College has two locations, one in Nampa, and a second location in Boise. This school offers 15-36 month programs with focuses in Business, Graphic Arts, Healthcare and Information Technology.

TREASURE VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE

With the primary campus being in Ontario, Oregon, the Treasure Valley Community College also has a beautiful facility in Caldwell, ID. The Caldwell Center had a 2010 fall enrollment of 820 students and is in its sixth year of offering classes. Many Caldwell Center students participate in a 2-year block transfer program which enables them to enroll with junior class standing at 4-year institutions in Idaho and Oregon.

Preparing and Planning the Future

With a 46,000 sq ft facility near many of Boise’s health care facilities, Carrington College is a great location to earn an associate degree or certificate in a medical field.

ITT TECHNICAL INSTITUTE

Offering technology-oriented programs, ITT Tech is located in over 35 states with 130 different branches (including a campus in Boise, ID).

HIGHER EDUCATION

BROWN MACKIE COLLEGE

With a campus in Boise, ID, students who are working can attend Brown Mackie College and structure a one course a month schedule.

BROADVIEW UNIVERSITY

Broadview offers Bachelor, Associate and Diploma programs in business, health science, legal, and technology fields Boise State University is the largest University in Idaho. With a choice of nearly 200 degrees and certificate programs, Boise State is more than just the Bronco Nation.

Northwest Nazarene University

Colleges and Universities COLLEGE OF WESTERN IDAHO (CWI)

College of Western Idaho (CWI) is a comprehensive community college providing higher education programs to residents of Western Idaho. They offer a full range of academic and professional-technical courses leading to an Associate of Arts or Science degree, transfer degrees, professional-technical degrees, continuing education, and certificates. CWI also offers basic academic skills to help prepare for a GED, dual credit for high school students, and fast-track career training for working professionals. Choose from classes offered at a variety of campuses throughout the Treasure Valley or online CWI also works with local businesses to provide customized workforce training programs.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO

Idaho’s oldest private college, the College of Idaho is located in Caldwell, ID. With 1,055 students and 26 majors, C of I has educated some of Idaho’s most accomplished graduates, including six Rhodes Scholars, three Marshall Scholars, and another ten Truman and Goldwater Scholars.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE UNIVERSITY (NNU)

Northwest Nazarene University, a comprehensive Christian university, offers over 60 areas of study, 19 master’s degrees in seven different disciplines and one doctoral degree. In addition to its 85-acre campus located in Nampa, Idaho, the University also offers programs online as well as in Boise, Idaho Falls, Twin Falls and in cooperation with programs in 10 countries. Founded in 1913, the University now serves over 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students, more than 6,000 continuing education students, and 2,300 high school students through the concurrent credit program.

BOISE STATE UNIVERSITY (BSU)

Boise State University is a public, metropolitan research university located at the base of the Rocky Mountain foothills in Idaho’s capital city. Boise State University is the largest institution of higher education in the state. With seven colleges and a choice of nearly 200 degrees and certificates, Boise State has over 22,000 students. IDAHO STATE UNIVERSITY (ISU)

With the main campus in Pocatello, Id, Idaho State University offers 250 programs and has an enrollment of over 13,000 students, representing 58 countries and 42 U.S. States. The satelite campus in Meridian, ID offers 30 graduate and undergraduate degrees with a primary focus on health sciences education.

UNIVERSITY OF IDAHO (U OF I) - BOISE CAMPUS

Founded in 1889, the University of Idaho was located in Moscow, Idaho (the northerm part of the state). In 1910, the school extended its education to the Boise Valley. The Boise campus offers over 30 degrees plus WWAMI medical education programs. The University as a whole provides over 2,000 different degrees and is home to more than 11,000 students statewide. University of Idaho earned the prestigious Carnegie Foundation ranking for high research activity. Researchers attract nearly $100 million in research grants and contracts each year with approximately $8 million being conducted in southern Idaho.

CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF LAW

One of the newest members of the Boise Valley, Concordia is pleased to unveil a forward-thinking vision for legal education that integrates a foundation in law with the practical skills needed to transform society through service. With the inaugural class enrolling in the Fall of 2012, the law school is positioned to provide both part- and full-time law students with a Juris Doctor degree that will prepare them for a future of expanded opportunities. Applications are now being accepted and scholarships and grants are available.

UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX

Offering a variety of undergraduate and graduate degrees in Meridian including business, education and criminal justice, the University of Phoenix makes it easy for students to receive a degree with flexible classes that are convenient to working adults.

GEORGE FOX UNIVERSITY
