CRC CRC FACTS Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the second most common form of cancer in terms of both total incidence and mortality. Although CRC mortality is decreasing, predominantly due to improved treatment, increased awareness and earlier diagnosis via screening; CRC incidence continues to increase, owing to the aging of the European population. It is expected that recent campaigns to improve awareness and implement screening in a minority of countries will further impact on CRC mortality. Significantly, CRC is one of the few preventable cancers if caught in the pre-cancerous stages.
