eat smart move more A Resource Guide For Healthy Living In Calumet County

www.co.calumet.wi.us

In an effort to provide Calumet County residents with the opportunity to be physically active, Calumet County Activity & Nutrition Coalition, otherwise known as U-CAN, has put together this brochure identifying the types of activity available at various places throughout the county with the focus being on low to no cost activities. The brochure is organized by community with all of the places and activities then listed underneath. A map is provided at the end of each section with the location of each activity. To get the most of the guide, be sure to review the opportunities available in each community. We are sure you will be amazed at the variety of offerings available in the county. From open walking times at area schools, to low impact exercise classes in Hilbert, to Optimist Club sponsored kids events, there is definitely something for everyone. You might even discover some new activities that you never thought of such as snowshoeing at the local nature centers, aquatic classes at one of our many pools, or learning how to play disc golf. The county is also home to several events that focus on physical activity. This brochure is not just about physical activity it’s also about healthy eating. The final part of the brochure provides a listing of the farmers markets and farm stands offering fresh produce in the county. For more information about this guide or to offer any changes, please contact: Calumet County Health Division (920) 849-1432 or (920) 989-2700 ext. 432 [email protected]
