Remove (3) Phillips screws holding the rocker switch housing and lift the housing out.

Slide in Radio Housing/Colocar el Armazón del Radio Slide this completed Radio Housing assembly into the dashboard where the original factory radio was and fasten it to the dashboard with screws removed in previous steps.

Reconnect any wiring unplugged in earlier steps and reinstall all trim rings and panels previously removed. NOTE: Be sure to replace panels, wiring and fasteners in the reverse order in which they were removed.

Now remove the original brackets that mount the factory radio/tape player unit to the dash. KEEP THESE BRACKETS, you will need them to mount your new Radio/Tape/CD Player. Discard your old factory radio unit itself.

(BUICK Electra, Estate Wagon, LeSabre & Park Avenue 1984–1994 )
Using wire cutters, cut and remove the shaft supports from the Metra Radio Housing. Next, slide the DIN cage into the Radio Housing and fasten in place by bending down the metal locking tabs. Now slide your new Radio/Tape/CD Player unit into the DIN cage until secure. Usando una pinza para cortar alambre, corte y remueva los soportes de los ejes de la Armazón del Radio Metro. NOTE: “Torx-head” screwdriver tool needed for this installation. Carefully unsnap the climate control trim ring and then remove the (4) Torx-head screws exposed underneath. Remove Trim Ring/Quitar el Marco Pull the steering collar back, then carefully unsnap and remove the plastic trim ring around the factory radio. Set this trim ring aside.
Connect the Metra wire harness (purchased separately) to your new Radio/ Tape/CD player.

Reconnect Battery/Reconectar la Batería Reconnect the negative ( - ) battery terminal you disconnected in Step 1. Test your new Radio/Tape Player/CD unit to be sure it works properly. If it does, continue on to next step. If not, check all wiring connections and test again. If unit still does not work properly, return it to dealer. FOR TOP AND/OR BOTTOM MOUNTING BRACKETS: Slide the Metra Extension Housing into the Metra Radio Housing until it reaches the mounting depth you want. Fasten the two together with the (2) Carriage Bolts and (2) Keps Nuts supplied with your Metra kit.
Remove the factory radio from the dashboard and disconnect wiring from the rear of the unit. Now remove the original brackets that mount the factory radio/tape player unit to the dash. KEEP THESE BRACKETS, you will need them to mount your new Radio/Tape/CD Player. Discard your old factory radio unit itself.

FOR SIDE MOUNTING BRACKETS: Slide the Metra Extension Housing into the Metra Radio Housing until it reaches the mounting depth you want. Mount the brackets to the housing assembly through the side holes, then fasten with the (2) Carriage Bolts and (2) Keps Nuts supplied with your Metra kit.

Carefully unsnap and remove the plastic trim ring around the factory radio. Set this trim ring aside.
NOTE: The Metra installation kit you have purchase enables 4 separate mounting depths for your new Radio/Tape/CD Player. Refer to the illustration below for desired mounting depths: Flush, 1/2" Recessed, 1/2" Extended, and 1" Extended. 6 ADDITIONAL NOTES:/NOTAS ADICIONALES FOR 1/2" RECESSED INSTALLATIONS: Extend the slots on the sides of the Metra Extension Housing by using wire cutters to cut a slot that opens 1/4" from the face of the housing. See the illustration below.

Using a flat-blade screwdriver, carefully pry outward on the plastic console trim ring around the factory radio. Remove the trim ring and set aside.
Remove the (4) Phillips screws from the plastic trim panel around the factory radio. Remove the (2) Phillips screws from the bottom edge of the trim panel. Now unsnap the A/C vents.
