DUBUQUE FAIRGROUNDS RC RACEWAY “DIRT” TRACK 2014 GENERAL RULES 1. NO illegal substances or alcoholic beverages are permitted at any DFRCR racing event. 2. Foul language, aggressive or abusive behavior will not be tolerated. 3. Race director and/or computer operator and Drivers should not be distracted during races. 4. Race director reserves the right to “black flag” any drivers who are operating in a reckless or uncontrolled manner or that may constitute a hazard to other drivers in a race. 5. If you leave the driver’s stand during a race, you may not return to the race. When exiting the driver’s stand, no driver shall walk across the race track or in front of other drivers. 6. You must corner marshal the race following your race. If a substitute is needed due to physical or other reasons, it is your responsibility to arrange for a substitute. 7. Corner marshals shouldn’t be distracted and must pay attention to their area and be ready to give assistance or remove cars from the track. Corner marshals must remain near the track until the race is done. 8. Disputes will be resolved by the Race Director and/or Race Committee. All decisions are final. 9. All classes of racing, unless noted, will be required to run a maximum of a 2 cell, 7000mah, 80C rating, lipo batteries in a hard case. Battery must have a quick release plugin. 10. No hybrid or modified rotors in any brushed or brushless motors. 11. No mechanical, adjustable wings from radio, no front brakes allowed. 12. All racers must sign a liability waiver the first time they race each season and they will receive a set of track rules at that time. Racers under the age of 18 must have the waiver signed by a parent or guardian. 13. All cars should be numbered. 14. Remember this is supposed to be fun. Physical contact of any kind may result in loss of all points and a 1 year suspension from date of infraction, from all DFRCR sanctioned events. 15. Rules are subject to change. 16. If it doesn’t say you can do it in the rules then you cannot do it. RACE PROGRAM -Thursday’s program consists of two qualifiers and mains. -Saturday’s program consists of three qualifiers and mains. -No substitute drivers in the mains. -You must race the car that you qualified with and start in the correct qualifying spot. -Minimum of (2) cars in a class. Race Director can combine classes of similar speed to maintain a smooth running program. -Drivers should supply their own personal transponder. -Race Director will not be responsible to hand count cars that do not pass the scoring loop. -Qualifiers will use a “rolling” or IFMAR start; Mains use a “rolling start” or standing start.

BODIES: 1. Molded one piece bodies only. No homemade bodies allowed. 2. No additional side dams, wings, flaps, spoilers, wickers or doohickeys will be allowed. 3. A hole(s) are allowed for motor cooling. 4. All bodies must be approved by race committee. TIRES: 1. Must be approved tires only. (Ask Denny t. about approved tire brands) BATTERIES: 1. Any 2 cell 7.4v lipo 2200 mah maximum or 6cell nimh battery 2200 mah maximum. Battery label must be intact for various reasons.

ALL 2WD CLASSES LISTED BELOW: All entries must be 2wd, rear wheel drive only unless the class calls for it to be a 4WD class. For turn marshal safety, all cars must have a front bumper that is made of a shock absorbing material. Front bumpers must be mounted in such a way that they will contact an object prior to any other portion of the car in a front impact. All modified bodies, sprint car bodies and cages must resemble contemporary full scale cars racing in the “World of Outlaws”, “IMCA” and “DIRT” sanctioned events. All corners of bodies and wings must be rounded for safety. No silicone or rubber capped tires are allowed.

Section 4: Side Dam specs 4-1 Running a Side Dam is the tracks choice. 4-2 Side dam front leading edge must be at least 4" from center of left front spindle with the wheels straight. 4-3 Side dam can be 5" tall from deck at its highest point, and cannot extend past rear spoiler. 4-4 Must have two tethers at least 8" apart. 4-5 Side dam must be on left side! Section 5: Rear Spoiler Specs 5-1 Rear spoiler can only be as wide as the body at the rear quarter panels. 5-2 Rear spoiler 3" max from deck. 5-3 The end caps must be a triangle shape.(See template) -You may have one fin on the spoiler and two side caps. The third fin must also be the same dimension as side cap. It can be located anywhere on the spoiler between the two side caps. The fin must be in line with the side caps on the front leading edge. Section 6: Wheel & Tire Specs 6-1 Tracks choice on which tires are legal (Foam or Rubber) 6-2 All wheels must be 17mm buggy based. Foam tire specs: 6-3 Max tire diameter- 106mm Max tire width- 46mm Spec rubber tires: 6-4 There will not be any grooving or sipping of the rubber tires. 6-5 Any street tread type 1/8 rubber tire. 6-6 Traction compounds are legal. Section 7: Weight 7-1 8-1/2 lb. At any time. Section 8: Tracks 8-1 The track has final say on rules enforcement! Section 9: 9-1 The DLMRA is not responsible for any actions by tracks or racers! (Part# 34314) 1-2 Must use the stock OFNA replacement parts only for chassis (Part# 34314) only exception are listed below 1-3 No offsetting a-arms or narrowing of a-arms. 1-4 No One-Ways Allowed. Stock diff’s only. 1-5 Must have dog bone center drive train, no on-road drive trains. 1-6 No third channel devices (one wheel brakes, wing adjustments and so on) 1-7 Wheel base: 12 5/8" to 13" 1-8 Width: 11 1/4" min. - 13" max. 1-9 Any and all parts must be flush or inside the tread width. 1/8” tolerance. 1-10 Must use the RED SPRINGS (Part# 40738) that come in the stock kit on the shocks. 1-11 Must use the stock spur (Part# 30110) that comes with kit. -This will be a “FIXED” gear ratio class, the only pinion gear allowed is 19 tooth from any manufacture. 1-12 Must use the stock front bumper (Part#34080) that comes with the kit. 1-13 No metal or carbon fiber front/rear bumpers. 1-14 You can only change/add the things listed below: - Shock oil / diff grease - Remove sway bars and hardware - Can add a rear and/or front bumper - Add collars on front drive axles to keep pins in place - Ball ends on shocks may be cut shorter for more shock travel - Wheel cap nuts - Up to 6 body posts are allowed to support the body - May use up to two 15mm offset wheel hubs (Part# 30058) that come in the car kits. Section 2: Motors, ESC & Batteries 2-1 Any sensorless 1950KV or less brushless motor allowed. 2-2 Any Hard case 3 cell lipo Battery – 5000 mah 50C max. -A hard Cover/case over soft cell packs is acceptable. 2-3 No additional batteries or boosters allowed. 2-4 Any ESC is allowed. 2-5 Must have hobby grade connector between battery and ESC! 2-6 ROAR charge limit! 4.22 per cell max Section 3: Bodies 3-1 All bodies must resemble a IMCA, USTMS or WISSOTA type modified body. 3-2 No additional wings, flaps, spoilers, wickers, vents or doohickeys will be allowed unless noted. 3-3 All lips used to reinforce body panels, Maximum length of 3/8”. 3-4 (1) ½” roof spoiler is allowed. Max spoiler width is the width of the roof panel. 3-5 Maximum nose width (top to bottom) is 6 ½” 3-6 No EXTRA holes for motor cooling is allowed. 3-7 Decking is allowed Rear tires cannot protrude through the decking. 3-8 Rear tires cannot protrude through the decking. 3-9 No metal body panels or supports of any kind allowed. 3-10 All bodies must be approved. -The Ofna late model body or any late model body with the front fenders removed to make the body resemble a modified style body will be acceptable so long that the body complies with the above rules. Section 4: Rear Spoiler Specs 4-1 (1) Rear spoiler can only be as wide as the decking at the top of the rear quarter panels. 4-2 Rear spoiler 3" max from deck. 4-3 The end caps must be a triangular shape and be the same size or smaller as the Late Model end caps. (See template) - No 3rd spoiler brace allowed. Section 5: Wheel & Tire Specs 5-1 The only tire that is legal is the OFNA NON-Belted tire (Part# 86052), the tire that comes in the kit. 5-2 The only prebuilt tire/wheel allowed is from Ofna (Part# 86509) 5-3 All wheels must be 17mm, Ofna buggy based. Any inserts allowed. 5-4 No grooving or sipping of the rubber tires all rubber tires must remain stock out of the box. 5-5 Traction compounds are legal. SECTION 6: WEIGHT: 6-1 8 LB. MINIMUM, 10 LB.
