DSO POPS 2016-2017 COFFEE CONCERT SERIES The following concerts are the Detroit Symphony Orchestra Pops Coffee Concerts for the 2016-2017 Season. It’s going to be a WONDERFUL Season! Since these are Coffee Concerts, complimentary beverages and donuts will be served prior to each concert. All concerts take place in beautiful Orchestra Hall. Seating for all concerts is mid-balcony. This year we have 22 tickets for each concert. We urge you to register NOW for all the concerts you want to attend to secure your spot. PLEASE NOTE: All concerts, except for the November concert, take place on Friday mornings. The November 23 concert takes place on Wednesday morning.

And these were the hits: “I Heard it Through the Grapevine”, “It’s My Party”, ”Brown-Eyed Girl”, and so many others. More than a dozen solid gold musical memories of the 60’s sensational chart –toppers will be performed at today’s concert. C’mon and join us for a trip down memory lane. After the concert we’ll do lunch at the Hockeytown Café. All of your favorite hits from “Oklahoma”, “The Sound of Music”, “South Pacific”, “Carousel”, ”The King and I” and more will be performed. Join us and you’re sure to “whistle a happy tune”! The classic musical “MAME” is the bill of fare at Village Players today. Set in New York City and spanning the years of the Great Depression and World War II, the play revolves around the eccentric Mame Dennis. Mame’s bohemian lifestyle is interrupted when her 10-year-old nephew Patrick is entrusted in her care following the death of Patrick’s father. During the course of the play, Mame introduces Patrick to her madcap, free-wheeling lifestyle. Production includes an array of wonderful songs including “We Need a Little Christmas”, “Mame”, and “If He Walked Into My Life”. Prior to the performance, we’ll enjoy brunch at La DOLCE VITA. What a delightful, multi-layered “onion” is this comedy/ghost story/ family mystery. The Michigan premiere! Recently deceased Mom shows up at her husband’s birthday party as a ghost with a mission: She must accomplish a task to earn her wings. The “task,” however, is a mystery. But wait: Only the daughter can see or hear Mom. But wait again: The daughter is only at the party under terms of her court-ordered anger management program. One by one, family secrets are peeled away, revealing a shocking truth that surprises even Mom.
