A NEW DELIVERY SYSTEM Over the past year Envirocon (formerly ECD) has worked with Allied Concrete, Holcim Concrete and Stevenson Concrete to create a new concrete disposal service. This service will launch from 1 November 2015. You, the trucks drivers, have an important role in making sure the system is successful. There will be a small number of changes; the purpose of these changes is to make it easier and faster to dispose of the wet waste concrete bring to Envirocon. This brochure will introduce you to the changes. Please read it carefully and if you have any questions ask one of our Yardman or call 0508 323 323.

WHY AND WHAT IS CHANGING? Each year New Zealand produces about 80,000m3 of waste concrete. A lot of this is sent to landfill, or dried and crushed. Both of these are expensive and bad for the environment. Your company believes there is a better way to handle waste. They’re partnered with Envirocon to expand our waste collection activities. They have chosen Envirocon because reusing the concrete is better for the environment and society. The partnership is for seven years, during this time Envirocon will be significantly expanding its collection activities and making it easier for ready mix drivers to dispose of waste concrete. The first step to achieving zero batching waste for your company starts 1 November. This will mean that Envirocon will now; · · · ·

Accept all concrete Be open for longer Be recording deliveries in more detail Provide more support to truck drivers

CONCRETE DELIVERY ACCEPTED TYPES OF CONCRETE

From 1 November 2015, Envirocon will accept ALL types of concrete, and all amounts. The concrete must be ‘Wet’ waste concrete. Dried or cured concrete is not accepted. Washing fines are also not accepted. Drivers should limit water being added to the mix before it gets to a Envirocon recycling facility.

WHERE CAN YOU DISPOSE

Envirocon operates two recycling facilities: Penrose Yard Address: 19 Station Road, Penrose Opening Hours: 6am to 9pm

Avondale Yard Address: 74E Patiki Road, Avondale Opening Hours: 6am to 6:30pm

DELIVERIES OUTSIDE OPERATING HOURS

Envirocon will be accepting after hours deliveries. Contact your batcher, dispatcher or plant manager to organise this service. For big pours outside normal operating hours your company can book Envirocon in advance to open for dumping.

CONCRETE DELIVERY PRIORITY ACCESS

Envirocon aims to make dumping concrete as fast as possible. If you are a truck from Allied Concrete, Holcim Concrete or Stevenson Concrete you will receive priority access. This means you can ‘jump-the-que’ if a truck from a company not listed above is in front of you.

RECORD OF DELIVERIES

Envirocon Yardmen are required to record every delivery. As such they will now ask you for a copy of your delivery docket before accepting your concrete. It is important you produce this when asked.
