Drawing Super Mario Tutorial In this tutorial, we will learn to draw very famous video game character 'Mr. Mario'. Although, each step is explained in details, but basic knowledge of Pen tool will be helpful.
Lets start by creating the face first. Set the foreground color to #E9C693. Draw this shape with Ellipse tool.
Click on 'Add to shape area'
Draw another circle below the the circle.
Add 2 pixel black color stroke in it.

Draw this ear with the pen tool. Add 2 pixel wide stroke in it. Use brush tool to draw a small curved line in the middle of ear.
Now, we will draw eyes, nose and other parts of the face. First we will draw nose in the face. Use Ellipise tool draw a circle similar to the picture. Add 2 pixel wide black color outline (stroke) in it.
Press 'D' to change the current foreground color to default black & white. Press X to swap the color. You should now have white as foreground color. Draw this oval shape with Ellipse tool. Add 1 pixel wide black color stroke in it.
Change the foreground color to #3C3989. Draw another circle as shown in the figure. Add 1pixel black stroke in it.
Draw another black color cirle. Add little white dot with brush tool in it.
Group these three layers by clicking on the box pointed by the arrow.
Press Control+E to merge the layers. Duplicate the eye by pressing Control+J together. Go to Edit>Transform>Flip Horizontal ... to rotate the duplicate eye layer horizontally.

Move and place these layers behind the nose.
Draw this shape with brush tool.
Draw a circle. Duplicate, rotate and finally merge them to get this shape.
Move and adjust this layer to have a shape as shown in the figure.
Now, we will draw a cap. Use pen tool to draw this shape.
Click on Convert to point tool.
Click and drag anchor points to complete this shape.
Right click in the middle of the shape and click make selection... Set the radius to 0 feather and click ok. Create a new layer by pressing shift+control+n together. Set the foreground color to #C23C40 and background to #A30D0E. Use gradient tool to fill the shape. Also add 1 pixel wide black color stroke in it. You should have an image like that.

By using the similar technique, draw this shape. Fill it with #C23C40. Also add stroke in it.
Draw this piece of hair. Fill it with brown color and add 1 pixel wide black stroke in it.
Draw another white color circle over the cap. Write 'M' with the brush tool in it.
Draw eyebrows with brush tool. The face of 'Mr. Mario' is completed.
Now we design rest of the parts. First, the body of our character. Set the foreground color to #17265A. Draw this circle.
Click on convert to point tool. Adjust the nodes to have this shape.

Draw another circle over it. Click on Add to shape area.
Now we will draw legs. For that, draw this shape with rectangle tool.
Rotate this rectangle as shown in the figure.
Draw a small circle below the rectangle.
Click on convert to point tool. Adjust the nodes to have a shape as shown in the figure.
Duplicate and rotate the shape as shown in the figure. Group and merege all the body layer. Add 1 pixel wide black color stroke in it.
Now we will draw shoes. For that, draw a #5D301A colored circle with Ellipse tool.
Click on Add to shape area and draw another circle below it.
Draw another circle and place it as shown in the figure.

Group and merge these 2 layers. Add stroke in it. Use brush tool to add light color shadow in it. Also draw a black colored curved line in the shoe.
Duplicate and place the shoe as shown in the figure.
Now, we will draw hands for Mr. Mario. Draw an white colored ellipse. Add anchor points in it.
Drag the nodes to complete this shape. Add 2 pixel wide black color stroke in it.

Add two fingers by drawing the two ellipses. Draw some lines in the hand. The palm is ready.
Draw this shape. Fill it with #B92C30 color and add black color stroke.
Draw these two shapes. Fill with #17265A. Draw a circle in it and fill it with #E89A19. Don’t forget to add stroke.

Draw this arm. Fill it with gradient with these colors Foreground = #C54145 ; Background = #A30D0E.
Draw another shape with the pen tool. Notice that I have change the fill color from white to red only for the tutorial purpose.
Adjust the nodes to have this shape. Add black stroke in it.
Draw some random lines to complete the shape. Mr. Mario is ready :)
