ABOUT TURQUOISE YACHTS... History Turquoise Yachts, formerly known as Proteksan Turquoise, was established in 1997 by two leaders of the Turkish boat building industry: Proteksan Yachts Inc. and Turquoise Yacht Construction. The company’s major shares changed hands in 2014 and MB Holding became the major partner. The company started the business with the building of M/Y Turquoise (present Double Trouble) Turkey’s first world-class superyacht. Following the success of M/Y Turquoise, 20 other megayachts, ranging from 40 to 72 meters, have since been delivered to their owners. Making use of both the space and labour force that a two-yard combination offers, Turquoise Yachts aims to deliver four first-class luxury yachts each year.

FACILITIES The shipyard is headquartered in Istanbul. If you take a globe and put a pin in the spot that sits right at the point where Europe joins with the Asian continent and where historically East meets West this point is Istanbul, the gateway to the Eastern Mediterranean and the world. Turquoise Yachts has two shipyards, one in Pendik, Istanbul and one in Kocaeli.

Kocaeli Shipyard

Istanbul, Pendik Shipyard

Kocaeli Shipyard

The Pendik facility was completed in 2007 and is an impressive 25,000m2 landscaped location capable of accommodating four yachts of up to 85m in length simultaneously. It boasts a dock length of 110m and is used expressly for interior decoration and finishing work.

The second shipyard is located in Kocaeli across the bay from Pendik. Here is where the steel and aluminum hull and superstructure work is completed, as well as the installation of machinery and heavy piping of up to 50,000m2. The shipyard was established in 2005 and is a 500,000m2 facility with a 120m dock. Currently building 50m to 75m+ hulls (of both aluminum and steel construction) the yard has the capability and facilities to build yachts with an overall length of up to 120m.

The shipyard is located just a few minutes drive from the International Sabiha Gokcen Airport which connects the city to the major capitals of the world and plays host to private jets. The shipyard has direct access to the Sea of Marmara for initial sea trials, which is conveniently just minutes from the yard’s dock face, as well as being just a short sea passage into the heart of the Mediterranean.

PERFECTION Bespoke Designs Turquoise Yachts has a talented in-house design team which offers a complete turnkey solution, as well as supportig the top name designers associated with individual yachts. We welcome any designer or studio that the clients wish to use for their project. The name Ed Dubois is associated with several of our yachts and was both the designer and naval architect who helped the fledgling Turquoise Yachts enterprise surprise the superyacht fraternity with Turkey’s first luxury 50m superyacht M/Y Turquoise. Ed Dubois remains an important part of our design supply chain along with H2 Yacht Design, Tony Castro Vitruvius Yachts, Jean-Guy Verges, Andrew Winch Designs, Donald Starkey and Paolo Caliari to name but a few.

Refined Joinery Turquoise Yachts specialises in the highest level of skilled joinery carried out by a talented team of artisanal craftsmen working with a variety of materials, including wood, stainless steel and leather. Alongside our trusted supplier we have an experienced workforce of around 150 skilled carpenters at our disposal, all of whom are accomplished at realising the artistic visions put forward by our trusted team of designers. All our interiors are fully customised and reflect the level of detailed precision that has become the signature of Turquoise Yachts.

Customization Turquoise Yachts platform hulls and superstructures are fully customisable, including the stern design, bulwarks and other main styling features. Clients are able to dictate the length of the hull, within certain limits, as well as the main compartment bulkhead interior. Our team of in-house and external designers are always on hand to offer guidance and support, but we welcome the ideas of clients who wish to have input in both the exterior and interior look and feel of their yacht. We are proud of the close collaborative relationships that our clients have with all our yard experts and designers and warmly receive input from clients every step of the way, whether from the development of the preliminary layout plans or further down the line regarding exterior styling, detailed 3D modeling, interior renders and the selection of materials and finishes. At Turquoise Yachts we build yachts for owners with vision and we pride ourselves on bringing these visions to life.

7

8

State of the Art Engineering With a raft of internationally renowned customers it is not surprising to find state-of-the-art engineering and digital design platforms at our impressive locations along with a wealth of in-house talent from interior fit-out specialists to highly qualified engineers and project managers. The very best machining tools (such as the five axes milling machine) and finishing processes ensure that the interiors match the high standards set by both the client and the interior designer.

The Sound of Silence Each and every superyacht built today undergoes the careful installation of multi-layered insulating materials, which go a long way to help reduce exterior sound levels when on board. However, unique to Turquoise Yachts is the use of spring type engine mounts and elastic shaft coupling with an engine and gearbox arrangement specifically designed for close coupling. The result of which is that the rumbles and vibrations of both the transmission and propeller are significantly minimalised, so that at lower engine speeds it is near enough impossible to feel the running components of the yacht when on board and even when travelling at higher speeds the level of comfort is dramatically improved.

Impeccable Paint Making use of our onsite paint facilities, at Turquoise Yachts we invest in both time and labour to ensure only the best results are achieved when it comes to fairing and top coat application. Striving for perfection in every paint job that we deliver, we apply the thickest finish layer of paint as permitted by manufacturers’ specifications. This not only delivers an aesthetically pleasing result, but guarantees the paint job will stand the test of time against harsh environmental factors. While five years is an acceptable time period for a good paint job to last, we believe the perfect finish lasts far longer, therefore reducing costs for the owner and maintaining a level of beauty and quality throughout the entire service period.

Environment and Safety The management demands that safety and environmental issues are best in class. The yard offers customers a clean and safe environment for the workforce and high precision engineering for the customer.

MICHELA REVERBERI Interior Design

The exterior lines created for the Turquoise 81m combine a sleek and elegant superstructure with a strong looking hull, while its long sheerline adds to the balanced look of the yacht. The guest accommodation is all located on the main deck and benefits from large windows and ample daylight through a fully glazed recess in the full beam hull. The main deck aft with a large infinity edge pool becomes the beach deck and invites guests to enjoy a relaxed and less formal atmosphere close to the water. The adjoining main deck lounge transforms into an extension of the informal beach deck, while the upper deck lounge provides a more elegant setting along with the indoor/outdoor dining aft. The owner’s suite is located on the upper deck forward and features a fully private walk-around deck with forward exterior seating and Jacuzzi. The clever design can also accommodate a second master or VIP suite aft on the bridge deck if so required. This allows for an entire private aft deck terrace off a very spacious cabin while the exterior access to the open sundeck leads past this on the port side. The top deck is also accessible via the interior elevator, which serves all five accommodation decks and offers space for exterior dining and BBQ areas as well as sun bathing and relaxing in two shaded cozy recesses incorporated into the superstructure.
