Preface and Acknowledgements The Office of Institutional Research is pleased to present the 2015 edition of the University of Central Missouri Fact Book. As in the past, this edition provides historical information on the university’s students, academics, personnel, finances, services and other issues that are important to the campus community. The primary purpose of the Fact Book is to serve as a source of information. This edition covers five year data trends from 2011 through 2015. Appreciation is expressed to numerous staff and faculty members who took the time to provide the information contained in this Fact Book. General Information 

 

QUICK FACTS Fall 2015



Founded in 1871, the University of Central Missouri is located in Warrensburg, Missouri, approximately 35 miles from the Kansas City metro area. The University occupies 1,561 acres.



The university is composed of the following colleges: College of Health, Science and Technology, Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies, College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, College of Education, and The Honors College.



UCM’s Office of Extended Campus offers degree programs at locations that meet students’ varying needs, including online, ITV, off-campus and non-credit classes.



The school colors are cardinal and black. UCM’s NCAA Division II athletic teams are known as the Mules and Jennies.



Fall 2015 enrollment was a record-high with 14,395 students, which included 10,001 undergraduates and 4,394 graduates.



The undergraduate student body consisted of 45% male, 55% female, 19% minority, and 3% international students. Domestic students came from 44 states.



The graduate student body consisted of 57% male, 43% female, 4% minority, and 57% international students. Domestic students came from 40 states.



There are 2,786 undergraduate and graduate international students from 53 different countries.



UCM has 35 international exchange agreements with institutions worldwide. This includes direct partnerships with overseas universities, as well as programs that have a strong faculty development piece.



The average ACT score for entering freshmen is 21.8.



There are 513 full-time faculty and 70.6% hold a doctorate or other terminal degree. The university has a 20:1 student-to-faculty ratio.
