Embroidery 1. Hoop your pillow top with tear-away stabilizer in your Husqvarna Viking® Designer™ Majestic Hoop. Open both of the quick releases. Tighten with the retaining screws; you need to adjust both screws equally. If you hoop the fabric and only tighten one of the sides, it puts uneven tension on the fabric on one side and can cause fabric distortion resulting in poor embroidery results. Close both quick releases by pushing them towards the hoop. For best result make sure you tighten the fabric in the hoop and always use all 16 clips provided. 2. Slide the hoop on to the embroidery unit. Do not push down on the embroidery unit release button when sliding the hoop on. The embroidery unit release button is for removing the hoop after embroidery is finished. When you hear the “click” you are ready to move on. 3. Select the “Star” design #4 and thread your embroidery machine with embroidery thread top and bobbin thread in the bobbin. Always start with a new needle when you embroider. Because Thread Velvet embroideries are multiple satin elements, be sure to use embroidery weight thread. 4. Start your embroidery. The Thread Velvet embroidery builds up a lot of thread with satin stitches first, then it is outlined with a straight stitch on each Thread Velvet layer. Designer Diamond™ stitches slower on the larger designs because it is moving more hoop area in the larger hoop. It is also computer controlled for the best embroidery stitch out quality.

6. When the embroidery is finished remove the hoop clips, push the embroidery unit release button to remove the hoop from the embroidery arm. Open the Quick Release levers. Turn the hoop upside down on a table. Push out the inner hoop. Most of the clips will pop out; the remaining ones will be easy to remove! 7. Apply Fray check to the wrong side of the Thread Velvet stitched area. This will help protect the cut threads from pulling out.

8. Tear away the stabilizer and clean cut all loose threads. 9. Take a “surgical” seam ripper (#140000165) and “slice” the Thread Velvet portions down the center from the right side. You can tell which they are by the layers of satin stitch surrounded by a straight stitch. Try to slice just the upper layers of thread. 10. Use a Chenille brush to get that extra “fluffiness” on your Thread Velvet design. Be careful when you brush so you don’t scratch your fabric. You can also blast it with steam from your steam iron. Do not place the iron directly on the satin stitch. 11. To finish your pillow follow the instructions in the easy step-by-step instructions for basic pillow case.

5. Follow the instructions on your Designer Diamond™ screen. When you need to rotate the hoop, a pop-up will appear on the screen. Rotate the hoop and touch GO. Touch the start button to continue embroidering.
