“To most people, the sky is the limit. To those who love aviation, the sky is home.” ~Anonymous

Vince Smith Line Supervisor Former B2 Stealth Bomber crew chief, walked into Fargo Jet Center and hit the ground running as a Line Tech. Six months later promoted to Line Supervisor.

“I worked intelligence for the U.S. Air Force but I just couldn’t give up on aviation. I need to have my hands dirty.” Understands that if you do a good job you’ll be given more opportunities to excel. At Fargo Jet Center, those opportunities are available to everyone.

“We’re a close-knit group. Our president knows everyone by name. I consider my co-workers an extension of my family. We’re all tight and we’re all taken care of.”

Customer Focused. Excellence Driven. Open to the world 24/7/365, Fargo Jet Center is located literally in the center of high-traffic domestic and international flight paths. Our unparalleled service has earned us a sterling reputation worldwide. We are a close-knit team redefining the private aviation industry. Every day is a new opportunity to reinforce the confidence our customers have in us. It’s the people in the trenches shaking hands, turning wrenches and flying planes that will define our successes and redefine the industry. Our responsibilities center on the safety of our customers. Families and business associates trust us to deliver the world-class service that is required to keep our customers safe. We focus on that responsibility every single day. As a locally owned and operated FBO, one thing is never lost on us: we understand our reputation has been built over the years by a team of dedicated people who have a passion for aviation. Aviation is our team’s business, our professional focus and our livelihood.

It Takes a Special Person Our people share a common bond: a passion for aviation. They either had it before they set foot in the building, or they developed it as an immediate contributor to the team. Whether it’s an acquired taste or simply in your blood, a passion for aviation lives here.

Mark Malmberg Charter Captain Used to call on Fargo Jet Center as one of his sales accounts. Had never been in a non-commercial plane. Took a couple flight training classes and never left. Started as a flight instructor and is now a full-time charter pilot. He even spends most nights in his own bed. Thrives on the high expectations placed on him by customers, and revels in the opportunity to pull off the impossible.

“This is a place of opportunity. You can carve out your own career path and have support from everyone. Six years ago I was a traveling salesman. Now I’m a pilot. Does it get any better than that?”

If you have the opportunity, talk with some of our team members. They’ll tell you why they came here and why they stay. Many of them have been part of the team since the early days and consider themselves lifers. Over our years of expansion and growth these dedicated people have worked on the line, maintained customer aircraft, piloted charter customers to special destinations and welcomed travelers through our terminal doors. They’ve done what’s expected, usually more. They wake up a little earlier, stay a little later and work a little harder. That’s why we’ve become an award-winning FBO. Sure the facilities are state-of-the art and we’ve got the latest and greatest equipment, but our team members are the bedrock of our growth and success. We are very proud and thankful.

A new kind of culture The aviation business is a little different. This isn’t a punch-the-clock 9-to-5 job, and it’s not hiding behind your desk pushing paper. Aviation is something most people only dream about. We live it every day. It’s in your blood and becomes a part of your soul. Office politics, micro-managing and climbing the corporate ladder – forget it. If you want a promotion, you earn it. If you want to talk to the head honcho, you go knock on his door. Better yet, visit with him at the grill during one of our weekly summer cook-outs. To fit in you’ll need a positive attitude, a strong work ethic with a little North Dakota Nice and an understanding of the word service. We are Fargo Jet Center. We’re changing the face of service in private aviation, and we can’t wait for you to join us.

Dawndi Ulmer Customer Service Manager The personification of North Dakota Nice. She greets customers with hugs and is on a first-name basis with repeat customers. She is Fargo Jet Center.

“I never thought I would be getting paid for having this much fun. I treat every customer and coworker like a brother or sister would want to be treated.” Gets teased for hearing a street sweeper on the ramp and thinking a helicopter was coming in unannounced. “I was a little green

to aviation back then.”

Coolest thing that’s ever happened to her at Fargo Jet Center: Made banana bread for Hollywood’s biggest actor and producer, and got a hug from both. Sorry, can’t name names…

Mike Clancy General Manager, Maintenance and Avionics A self-admitted workaholic and loves every minute of it.

“We joke about this unexplained passion for aviation we all have – we call it the ‘sickness’. There’s no better place on earth than a lit up airport with the hangar open in the middle of the night. You either have it or you don’t.” Responsible for planes all over the world — from Saudi Arabia to Australia, not to mention home-based Fargo clients.

“Advancement is up to the individual. We promote on attitude, ability and work ethic. Our team members check their ego at the door and forget about office politics.”
