TMD FOR THE SLEEP DENTIST Dear Colleague: I would like to offer you the opportunity to improve your level of care for your Sleep Patients. Join us for the AACP Institute program: TMD For The Sleep Dentist. This unique two-day program offers you the opportunity to gain a firm understanding of the area of TMD and how it affects the treatment of your Sleep patients. There is nothing more frustrating than to undertake the treatment of an apparently routine Sleep patient only to have them develop pain and/or dysfunction of the gnathostomatic system where prior to treatment they were asymptomatic. What should have been a straight forward uncomplicated course of treatment now develops into a concerned and unhappy patient with jaw pain, TMJ dysfunction and headaches. This two-day program will give you a firm understanding of the anatomy of the head and neck that is associated with TMD and Sleep. And, in addition, will provide you with an understanding of the various pathology entities that may be present prior to treatment, unrecognized, or develop during the course of treatment. Additionally you will be taught how to do a thorough examination of your patient for TMD and straight forward treatment concepts to address these problems. The American Academy of Craniofacial Pain is a world leader in the education of health care professionals in the diagnosis and treatment of Craniofacial Pain, TMD and Sleep. I urge you to evaluate this brochure and join us for this exceptional two-day learning experience. Whether you are new to Sleep Dentistry or a seasoned clinician, you will find the information in this program unparalleled. Let us help you elevate and improve your level of care for your Sleep patients. I am confident you will find the experience an exceptional learning experience.
