Teacher’s Day Celebration “ Most of us end up with no more than five or six people who remember us, but teachers have thousands of people who remember them for the rest of their life.” Teachers have an influencing role in the life of every student. They are like beacons of light, guiding the students in the formative years of life. Thus to encourage their priceless efforts and to commemorate the birthday of a great educator, Dr. Sarvapali Radhakrishnan ANAND NIKETAN MANINAGAR had celebrated „Teachers Day‟. It is the birthday of Dr. Sarvapali Radhakrishnan, who was a staunch believer of education, scholar, President of India and above all a Teacher. A warm welcome was extended to all the teachers with a beautiful rose and a hand-made greeting card by the student council and the management. Many students performed their ever desired „role of a teacher‟ in the class and the real teachers were relieved for the day. After lunch with the indispensable presence of Harpreet Ma‟am and Amit Sir, the real celebration began which had the wonderful inclusion of dance performance by students, quiz for teachers and many more…… It added flavor when students honoured their favorites subject teachers with hand- made awards which again showed the creativity of our students. Special awards for Educators for excellence in attendance, best club were presented by the management. The management threw a wonderful luncheon party for the teachers and happily the day ended leaving a lots of happy memories to recall……..

GANESH CHATURTHI “ Oh my Friend Ganesha, Tum rehna saath hamesha.” ANAND NIKETAN MANINAGAR Campus reverberated with the chants of Ganpati Bappa Moriya on the morning of 9th of September in the school. Everyone sang “Aarti” of Lord Ganesha which started by our Vice Principal, Mrs Shilpa Ma‟am and proceeded with the teachers. Every one recited “Jai Ganesh Jai Ganesh Deva…” and joined the prayer with full “shraddha”. A wonderful dance & skit performance was done by the students directing the birth of Lord Ganesha and many significant incidents of his life, added to the joys of this event.

Hindi Divas On September 13, the little Fawns of Pre-K, K-I and K-II celebrated Hindi Divas to acknowledge the importance of our national language. The occasion was celebrated with poems, jokes and stories that were shared by the toddlers.

Folk Tales of China and Russia As an extension to the International School Award, children of Gr. 4 enacted the folktales of China and Russia depicting their rich culture, tradition and societal systems. This presentation was a unique example of the dramatics skills and the acceptance and presentation of various cultures.

Field Trip to Kankaria As a part of the learning process of resources of water. We took our children to Kankaria lake where we explained about the history of Kankaria and the reason behind its name. the tiny tots were delighted to the aquarium and the different size and colours of fishes. The energetic ride of the Atal express was thoroughly enjoyed by the little fawns. The smart tiny tots drew this experiences and visualizations on paper, the next day. It was invigorating to see Kankaria from the child‟s point of view.

ANM SUPERMARKET Before the introduction of money, barter system was prevalent in India. In order to introduce our kids to barter system and a variety of fruits and vegetables were arranged at ANM Supermarket for them. Kids had brought variety of fruits like dragon fruit, star fruit, custard apple, pineapple etc. they had also brought leafy vegetables and other seasonal vegetables. Some of them had brought groceries. All the goods were arranged accordingly. Kids were given paper bag to teach that plastic bags are harmful to nature. The kids then moved around the market class wise to get a feel of the market. They bartered their goods as per the needs and liking. Our purpose of teaching kids fruits, vegetables and barter system was fulfilled. As there was a doctor‟s check-up in school, the doctors also visited our market set up and enriched our kids by telling them about the nutrients we get from fruits and vegetables. This was a novel concept which the kids enjoyed.

Chef Day The young chefs of Gr. 1 of Anand Niketan Maninagar tempted everybody with mouth watering delicacies prepared by their tender hands. The menu was full of starters, biscuit toppings, sandwiches, nutritious bhel and full of chocolate dessert. The yummy tummy delicacies prepared by them were all set to give tough competition to Master Chefs Sanjiv Kapoor and Tarla Dalal.

Show and Tell by K-II Show and tell activity revealed the latent talent of our tiny tots of K-II. The little kids enthusiastically showed their favourite objects and told the audience about it. A few also dressed up in their favorites attire and spoke about their favourite clothes. The amazing confidence of the students made the event a successful one.

Coloring different types of fruits. As part of ongoing ISA project, K-I fawns did coloring of different fruits like apple, sweet tamarind, kiwi, purple grapes.

K-I Field Trip to Hyper City at Alpha One Mall On Monday 30th September, children of K-I visited Hyper city at Alpha One Mall located at Vastrapur lake. Our toddlers entered the hyper city through escalator which was their 1st challenge. The kids were overjoyed to see the eatable counter, clothes section, toys section, cosmetics and jewellery section and finally they saw their favourite fruits and vegetables. Children were keen to see fruits like dragon fruit, sweet tamarind, orange, sweet lime, green apple etc. they also saw some exotic vegetables like zucchini, green, red and yellow capsicum, cherry tomatoes etc. the trip was made memorable by the little time table stickers gifted to our little fawns by the staff of hypercity.
