GENERAL INFORMATION Prerequisites

Course Changes/Transfer Fees

Alberta Education regulations regarding prerequisite courses apply to summer school. These regulations specify that a student must have a pass standing (i.e. 50% or higher) in the prerequisite course in order to continue with the series. If you register for a course without prerequisite standing, you will be withdrawn from the course without a refund of Program & Material Fees.

There is an additional $20.00 processing fee per course for changing or transferring a course. This fee is charged each time a change or transfer is requested and takes place.

Attendance

Classroom-Based Attendance Full Attendance is crucial. Students will not be allowed to start at a later date or write final exams early to accommodate holiday plans. Students who miss 2 instructional days for a 5 credit course or 1 instructional day for a 3 credit course will be automatically withdrawn from their course. Self-Paced Attendance Attendance must be regular and consistent in order to complete the course. Students must attend the first 5 days of July (2-8th) in order to finalize registration. If 50% of the course is completed, this requirement can be waived by the lead teacher. Please do not plan on taking holidays or on working full-time during summer school. Students are expected to hand in work on a regularly scheduled basis!

Withdrawals There is a $20.00 processing fee per course for withdrawals made before June 27th. Withdrawals must be made by phone 780 944-2000 prior to June 27th. If you withdraw from a summer school course after June 27th, all Program & Material Fees will be withheld and you will receive only the $80.00 Textbook Rental Deposit, if applicable, upon the return of textbook/ materials in satisfactory condition. Classroom-Based course withdrawals must be made at the site location the student is registered at after June 27th.
