FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID

Required for federal grants, loans and work-study and need based scholarships Complete and submit annually, as soon after January 1 as possible (Don’t wait, estimate!) The FAFSA determines the Expected Family Contribution (EFC)

EMU SCHOLARSHIPS Emerald Scholarship or Challenge Award •All freshman are automatically considered for the awards through their Admission application •Eligible students were notified of the award amount and renewal criteria in their Admission letter

Education First Opportunity Scholarship •Pell Grant Eligible Michigan or Ohio Residents •20 ACT and 3.0 GPA •Guaranteed Tuition and Fees paid by Pell Grant, Emerald Scholarship and Education First Opportunity Scholarship

Other Scholarships •Other scholarships should be reported to the Office of Financial Aid •Students are encouraged to apply for any scholarships they qualify for

Parent Loans •Parent PLUS Loan (non-need based) 7.9% interest •Repayment 60 days from full disbursement (or parents can request “in school” deferment)

Disbursement begins 10 days before the start of each semester

ONLINE E-BILL/STATEMENT • Students will receive an email notification that their e-bill is ready to view in the middle of August. • The semester bill for Fall term will be due the beginning of September. • All processed financial aid will be reflected on this bill. (All financial aid requirements must be complete). • Statements available at ebill.emich.edu

ONLINE E-BILL/STATEMENT •Parents or financial supporters can become authorized users if the student grants them access to their account. •Once signed up by the student; authorized users are able to access all online account activity. •Authorized users will receive EBill/Statement emails to their email address each time an EBill/Statement is created for the student.

•If fall aid is less than the fall bill, the student will owe the balance •If aid is greater than the bill, a refund will be given to the student *Don’t count work-study or loan offers you are not going to accept

PAYMENT PLANS •One time fee per semester (currently $32). •No interest or late fees if paid on time. •Reminder emails are available on the personal profile tab through Ebill. •Charges are equally divided over the length of the payment plan.

EAGLE ONECARD The Eagle OneCard is: • The Official University ID Card. • Not a credit card. • The card that gives access to student privileges. • The only way to access any University refund and student payroll.

GETTING THE EAGLE ONECARD Student photos will be taken during today’s orientation. The Eagle OneCard will be mailed to their home address from: Higher One 185 Burlingham Rd North Kingstown, Rhode Island 02852 Everyone must activate their card.

ACTIVATING THE EAGLE ONECARD

• Log on to: www.EMUEagleOne.com. • Enter the 16 digit card number into the “Get Started” box and click “Activate” • Authenticate the card by filling in the requested information • Verify address and personal information • Set up website login • Choose a refund preference

REFUNDS AND STUDENT PAYROLL

When you activate your card you will choose your refund/payroll preference Deposit into the OneAccount

Deposit into an Outside Bank

• OneAccount is an online checking/debit account with Higher One • OneAccount is accessed through the Eagle OneCard • OneAccount does not create a credit account

• Continue use of your outside checking/savings account as usual

DEPOSITING MONEY INTO A ONE ACCOUNT • Students can drop off a check or money order to the Communications Box in the Student Center or in Pierce Hall • Family and friends can set up a funding account at EMUEagleOne.com • Checks or money orders can be mailed to Higher One

PARKING • Student parking hang tags will be available for purchase via the parking website at the end of July. • Commuter and Resident parking options are available. • Guest parking is available at an hourly rate in designated lots. • emich.edu/parking

PARKING • Currently there is free parking at the Rynearson Lot with a shuttle to main campus. • Currently we sell discounted AATA bus passes. • Hertz on Demand - A car share program that allows students to make use of Hertz vehicles permanently stationed on campus for an hourly rate.
