White polar spruce: The slowly grown Nordic spruce is a guarantee for longlasting quality. It has lively veining and a very fined pored structure. It is most identified by its spicy fragrance, which lends the sauna its typical character.

Hemlock: The hemlock fir is available as an alternative to white polar spruce. This pinewood, grown on the west coast of Canada, is characterised by its very low resin content. It is extremely durable and, due to its surface structure, at times with various mineral inclusions, gives the sauna a particularly attractive look.

Softwood: The special properties of softwood are needed in order to ensure comfortable seating in the sauna: Free of splinters and branches and with a low thermal conductivity. At saunalux we only use high-quality softwood to make benches.

European lime: The plain veining of the Nordic lime with few branches and inclusions lends the sauna a subtle ambience. Limewood has been valued for decades, specially in Russian banjas and proven its worth for a special sauna atmosphere.

An optimum relaxation and health effect is guaranteed if all these elements are perf e c t l y m a t c h e d w i t h e a c h o t h e r.
