Cordless kitchen appliances The specifications will enable a whole new class of cordless appliances. These appliances will be easy to handle, easy to clean and easy to store. Rather than a conventional wall power socket, these appliances need an inductive power source to be powered.

Inductive Power Sources Inductive power sources (transmitters) may be stand alone or integrated in the kitchen counter tops or dining tables. Transmitters could combine the Wireless Power transfer to an appliance with conventional Inductive Heating.

Principle of Operation B
Inductive Power Transfer (IPT) Power may be transferred with induction using a primary coil (in the transmitter) and a secondary coil (in the appliance). This will be the designated method for motor driven appliances.
Induction Heating (IH) Power (heat) may be transferred directly into the metal base of an appliance by induction heating. This method may offer advantages (e.g. cost, efficiency, shielding) for cordless heating appliances such as kettles.
