PROJECTS

Toyota Boshoku Canada Inc. - Woodstock, ON Toyota Boshoku is a premier automotive interior systems supplier providing front and rear seats, interior door trim, carpet and headliners for Toyota Canada’s manufacturing facility in Woodstock, Ontario. Sutherland-Schultz Inc. completed the installation of all equipment in Toyota Boshoku’s new 265,000 ft2 factory over a period of four months. Project Highlights:

• Multi trade project included skilled SSI personnel in sheet metal, electrical, millwrighting and plumbing



• Peak manpower of 100 personnel on-site



• Equipment included presses, injection moulding machines, robotic welders and conveyor systems



• Ensured that off-shore equipment met ESA (Electrical Safety Authority) specifications and resolved any compliance issues

Linamar Corporation - Guelph, ON Linamar operates 37 manufacturing locations in North America, Europe and Asia serving diversified markets with a workforce of over 11,000. Sutherland-Schultz Inc. disconnected the turbine and reaction shaft machinery in Toledo, Ohio and relocated to Linamar Roctel division in Guelph, Ontario. Project Highlights:

• Relocated a total of 85 machines from Toledo to Guelph



• Multi trade project involving millwrights, electricians and pipe fitters

Redpath Sugar - Toronto, ON Redpath Sugar Ltd., who markets and sells sugar products in Canada under the Redpath Brand, is a wholly owned subsidiary of American Sugar Refining Inc. Sutherland-Schultz works with Redpath as their in-house maintenance team, completing all preventative maintenance, maintenance work, emergency work and support for energy conservation projects and production efficiency. Sutherland-Schultz also is Redpath Sugars primary source for capital projects. Project & Maintenance Highlights:

Magna International - Aurora, ON Magna International has 56 manufacturing operations in Canada. Magna Powertrain has 12 Canadian locations. Sutherland-Schultz Inc. completed the teardown, relocation and recommissioning of an automotive parts manufacturing process from Concord, Ontario to Mississauga, Ontario. Project Highlights: • Involved fully automated linear transfer assembly system including CNC machining and robotic material handling • First phase involved PSSRH and upgrading guarding and electrical safety relays.

PROJECTS

Imperial Tobacco Canada - Guelph, ON; Aylmer, ON Imperial Tobacco Canada is the country’s largest tobacco manufacturer. They previously operated Canada’s largest cigarette manufacturing plant in Guelph, Ontario and a tobacco processing plant in Aylmer, Ontario. Following many years as a primary service provider to this client, Sutherland-Schultz Inc. oversaw the decommissioning and removal of 50 percent of the equipment in the 600,000 ft2 Guelph facility and the smaller Aylmer plant. Project Highlights:

• Removed and crated two complete process lines ready for transport



• In-house fabrication of over 100 skids used to transport equipment



• Equipment not slated for relocation was destroyed beyond recognition per client specifications



• Utilized 20 tradespeople steadily over a three to four month period

Flowserve Canada - Kitchener, ON The Flowserve-Canada Alloy Facility in Kitchener is a fully operational Foundry. The processes within the facility include sand mould preparation, metal meting furnaces, casting, mould shake-out, sand reclaim, sand recycling, and casting finishing processes, which include arc air cutting, grinding, and welding. Sutherland-Schultz is preforming the work on the Dust Collection Upgrade Project, partnering with an engineering firm who specializes in dust collection, SSI is manufacturing and installing the new dust collection systems at Flowserve. The current fume and dust control is limited to only a portion of the processes and the plant required, as directed by the Ministry of the Environment to perform extensive repairs and improvements to meet Ontario standards.

Corporate PROJECTS Halton Hills Generating Station Sutherland-Schultz is performing construction of the air-cooled condenser (ACC) at the Halton Hills Generating Station with future bids for electrical and instrumentation work. The ACC will house 30 large fans in five parallel rows called streets. Each fan is almost 40 feet in diameter and reside 60 feet above the ground. When completed, the ACC will be even taller with the addition of a perimeter “wind wall” and the A-frame structures running on top of each of the five streets. The wind wall is 45 to 50 feet tall making the entire structure over 100 feet high.

Ontario Power Generation A partner and supplier to OPG, Sutherland-Schultz is currently working at the Nanticoke facility. The Nanticoke coal-fuelled generating station is located on the north shore of Lake Erie in Haldimand County, Ontario. Its eight generating units are capable of producing 3,964 megawatts (MW) of power. The station’s annual production is in the range of 20 to 24 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh), enough electricity to run nearly 2.5 million households for a full year. Sutherland-Schultz work at OPG includes project & ongoing maintenance work of: • Fan sound attenuation • Burner air register refurbishment • Boiler burner reworks • Ash blower removal, refurbishment and reinstallation • Low pressure and high pressure heating systems • Valve work (pressurized, motorized and relief) • Subcontractor for turbine overhaul and retrofits
