Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP) April ’08 – March ’09 RAP staff assisted 73 Government Assisted Refugees (GARs) from 11 countries: Bhutan Burundi Colombia

Program delivered: •Orientation and Support during first 4-6 weeks, including: •Meet and Greet •Intake and link to CIC (Application for SIN, Medicare, CTB) •Assessment and referral to broader based services •Basic orientation to life in Canada •Permanent Accommodations Search •Financial Orientation / Counseling

Immigrant Settlement and Adaptation Program (ISAP) April ’08 – March ’09 ISAP staff served a total of 539 clients (206 were new clients)
Serves newcomers of ALL immigration categories facilitating access to services in the community by providing: • orientation & guidance • interpretation • accompaniment
Orientation to Canadian: • education system • healthcare system • tax system • legal system; rights and responsibilities • banking, etc. Assistance to access: • Housing • childcare resources • recreational resources, etc SWIS PROGRAM in schools
