The data was copied from the cards (Navy) or filled out forms (Form 724-1, A,G,O,) as they were found on the digital images or on the reproduced forms.

Military Veterans of Missouri War of 1812 through WWI and Other Military Data Information in this file is from a combination of sources: 1) the Missouri State Archives· Soldiers Database (http://www.sos.mo.gov.larchives/soldiers/)which covers the veterans of the War of 1812 through WWI; 2) ANCESTRY's Civil War Collection which inchides Civil War Service Records and the Civil War Pension Index (Union only) and 3) various published sources and microfilm found in libraries concerning Missouri veterans or military data. A certificate of war service shall be given on request, without charge, to any veteran or lineal descendant of a veteran. Additional information can be obtained by contacting the Missouri State Archives. WAR OF 1812- No "Alfords" in Missouri at this time; John Alfred did receive a Bounty Land Warrant #3578, Sec. 38, Twp 56, Range 16. He is believed to have served from Virginia and this record was from Vol. 18 ofthe Missouri Tract Books located at the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in Alexandria, VA.
