We’ll celebrate by teaching you how to master an easy-to-make pie crust with a variety of seasonal fillings. You will create a beautiful tart sure to please even the pickiest of pie patrons! FLAVORS OF THE CARIBBEAN Tues, July 19, 6p-8:30p • $55 Join us for a tropical Caribbean journey while we make amazing jerk chicken, a rich pepperpot stew, then lighten it up with a papaya-pineapple salad, followed by a rich coconut milk cake. VEGAN WITH A VENGEANCE Fri, July 22, 6p-8:30p • $45 Create flavor packed entrées and desserts so tasty that you’ll question just how “Vegan” they actually are. Participants will enjoy making chickpea shawarma salad, potato and porcini mushroom ravioli, and vegan chocolate pie. We’ll learn to make a variety of marinades for grilled chicken (plus find out why and how to use them), learn the perfect cooking technique for our mouthwatering burgers, and create a light refreshing coleslaw (to put right on your burger). Then we’ll wrap it all up with a grilled pound cake with seasonal fruit. FRUIT PIE, OH MY! APPLES AND MORE Tues, August 16, 6p-8:30p • $40 Michigan summer fruit is in its prime, so let’s celebrate with a classic pie-making class! We will help you master a great-tasting, easy to make pie crust and a variety of seasonal apple fillings for a beautiful tart sure to please even the pickiest of pie patrons! HOT NIGHTS IN THE SPANISH RIVIERA Wed, August, 17, 6p-8:30p • $65 Take a food journey to the Spanish Riviera with Spanish style grilled meats and seafood; baby octopus salad, sweet potato empanadas and torta Santiago (the classic Spanish almond cake). LATE SUMMER HARVEST Tues, August 23, 6p-8:30p • $55 With our favorite Michigan summer vegetables still available, we’ll create some beautiful veggie-inspired dishes. Recipes include a crisp tomato-vegetable gazpacho, succulent grilled chicken, a refreshing fresh tomato and melon salad, and a seasonal fruit dessert.

KIDS TACO TUESDAY Tues, May 3, 4p-5:30p • $35 This class will inspire kids to create the menu for your family’s next fiesta! Kids will learn how to make breakfast tacos (with egg, veggies, chorizo, and cheese),traditional ground beef tacos, tomato and tomatillo salsas, and a deliciously sweet Mexican dessert. KIDS COOKIE WORKSHOP Wed, May 18, 4p-5:30p • $25 We’ll start with two classics: peanut butter cookies, thumb print cookies, next move on to snickerdoodles, and wrap it all up with award-winning chocolate chip cookies. KIDS BAKIN’ CUPCAKES Wed, June 15, 4p-5:30p • $35 Kids will learn how to perfect the ultimate batter and buttercream frosting both from scratch! While cupcakes are baking, we’ll balance things out with a healthy snack. Then we’ll learn how to flavor our frostings while having some decorating fun. KIDS ICE CREAM PARTY Mon, August 8, 4p-5:30p • $30 After kids learn how to make the perfect ice cream base, they’ll create their own customized ice cream flavors by adding a few (or a lot) of their favorite ice cream fixins’, including whole fruits, blended fruits, nuts, cookies, sweet sauces and more.

TEENS COOKIE WORKSHOP Wed, May 18, 7p-9p • $30 This hands-on cookie workshop is a great way to get your teen interested in baking in the kitchen! We’ll start with two classics: peanut butter cookies, thumb print cookies, next move on to snickerdoodles, and wrap it all up with award-winning chocolate chip cookies. Teens will get the chance to customize their cookies, just the way they like them! TEENS TACO TUESDAY Tues, May 3, 7p-9p • $40 In this class teens will become inspired to create traditional Mexican dishes at home. They will learn how to make shrimp tacos with avocado salsa, roasted vegetable tacos with queso fresco, shredded chicken and black bean tostadas, and a deliciously sweet Mexican dessert. TEENS BAKIN’ CUPCAKES Wed, June 15, 7p-9p • $35 Teens will learn how to make a variety of delicious batters and buttercream frosting all from scratch! While cupcakes are baking, we will balance things out with a healthy snack. Then teens will add some personal flair with custom fillings, flavors and decor.

This weeks kid’s creations include: Buttermilk biscuits, homemade baked chicken tenders, nutty chocolate chip quinoa cupcakes, mini seasonal fruit tarts, savory supper pie, black bean brownies, pizza with vegetable pizza sauce, and monkey bread.

WEEK 2: ROADTRIP USA July 12, 13, and 14, 10a-2p • $125 From the Southwest, to Creole country, to New England, and back, kids will take a culinary road trip throughout the US!

This week’s kids creations include: Mexican enchiladas, southwestern slaw, TexMex style chocolate pudding, hopping John rice and beans, pimento cheese spread, lemon parfaits, New England crabcakes, rhubarb tea, and hasty pudding.

WEEK 3: SOLD OUT! WEEK 4: MOVIE MEAL MAYHEM July 26, 27, and 28, 10a-2p • $125 Ever wondered how to make a real Ratatouille or what would happen if Minecraft food was served at your dinner table? What would happen if food took over Grand Rapids like it does in Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs? Join us as we explore the food, farming, and environment related to these popular movies.

This week’s kids creations include: Sausage meatballs, giant pancakes, peach sauce, fresh fruit juice, pixalated fruits and veggies with homemade sauces and dips, vegetable ratatouille, French chocolate mousse, and homemade bread sticks.

WEEK 5: MODERN CITY HOMESTEADING July 19, 20, and 21, 10a-2p • $125 Kids will learn the ten basic concepts of urban homesteading and align them with practical skills, such as growing potted plants, making sauces from scratch, designing your own reusable snack sack, and using dry ice to create a fun dessert. Kids will also learn about rain barrels and worm bins (vermiculture) and how they add value to any urban yard.

This week’s kids creations include: Cucumber salad, black bean quesadillas, banana pudding vegetable pancakes with homeade ketchup, carrot slaw, ice cream, deviled eggs, seasonal veggie soup and homemade soft prezels with honey mustard dip.

TECHNIQUE & SKILL HAVE FUN, EAT WELL, AND LEARN ALL AT THE SAME TIME WITH KITCHEN TECHNIQUE CLASSES FOR AGES 16+. BEGINNING KNIFE SKILLS AND STOCKS Mon, May 9, 6p-8:30p • $65 Learn basic knife techniques such as knife handling, types of cuts, and proper knife selection to make you more confident in the kitchen. You’ll use these skills to create masterful chicken, fish, and beef stocks that will become the base for a variety of soups. We will make a seasonal vegetable minestrone and a rich creamy broccoli cheddar soup. FARMERS MARKET FOODIE FIELD TRIP Wed, May 11, 10a-12:30p • $35 Wed, June 1, 10a-12:30a • $35 Wed, July 6, 10a-12:30a • $35 Wed, August 3, 10a-12:30a • $35 Join our chefs at the Fulton Street Farmers Market for a guided personal shopping experience. We will teach you how to make the most of Michigan’s bountiful harvest. After an instructional demo, you will walk away with seasonal recipes that are sure to impress. RAISE THE STEAKS! Thurs, June 16, 6p-8:30p • $85 Father’s Day is right around the corner so let’s master the grill to impress before the big day. We will show you how to perfectly season steak, create rich white wine mushrooms, caramelized beer onions, herb rubbed oven roasted potatoes, seasonal vegetable skewers, and round out the day with a decadent black bottom pie.

RAMEN WORKSHOP Mon, June 20, 6p-8:30p • $55 What’s more relaxing than a big bowl of traditional Ramen? Come learn about one of Chef Michael’s favorites and see how easy this healthy dish is to make at home. You will be creating your own homemade traditional noodles and traditional broth. In addition, we will prepare potstickers and the perfect poached egg. To top it off, we’ll whip up some tasty green tea ice cream. WE CAN CAN! Maybe you’ve always wanted to know how to make perfect chicken stock? In this class you will receive a whole chicken and learn to cut, properly portion, and create these dishes utilizing every last piece. BOOZY BRUNCH: SUMMER BRUNCH ON THE LAWN Sat, July 9, 10a-12a • $65 Break out the white linen pants and straw hats to enjoy this cocktail class and cooking demonstration. This class will focus on fresh fruit parfaits, farmers market hashes, and daquiries from all islands around the equator.

This garden class for cat owners will cover herbs and plants your feline friend will enjoy. Hands-on lessons include harvesting, taste-testing, and maintaining plant health.
